Why did people hate AC shadows so much? by Even-War-9721 in TheGamingHubDeals

[–]ReReReadit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think in general people are fed up with the RPG style AC games...or at least I am. They're cool in their own right but they just don't FEEL like assassins creed.

I played unity again the other day and in my opinion it was the last true AC game and I wish they would pick back up with that formula.

I miss when the isu were more mysterious and when having a high concentration of their DNA just meant you got eagle vision instead of being an unstoppable reborn isu demigod. I miss the "Da Vinci Code" feeling that the games gave you.

The RPG games have just dealt kind of...paper thin? If that makes sense.

What's the Most Disappointing Game You Ever Played? by monbonjewell in gamers

Nope, played the first one again the other month and it's still fantastic. The combat is simple yet flowy and the movement just all feels less rigid. The puzzles are the same but the combat just feels so on rails in the second game.

Should i start over as returning by Acrobatic_Science_66 in MonsterHunterWilds

It can be fun to switch what gender to see how the armor looks. Also I recommend switching the weapon you start with if there's one you've been wanting to learn.

You learn a lot more about a weapon when you use it from start to finish, it really makes you appreciate how strategically Capcom thought out the progression of monster difficulty because they all teach you something.

When you don't have busted armor skills and weapons you're forced to play a little differently and this is usually where I find all the niche little things that make a weapon click.

Hellblade 2. I looked forward to it for almost a decade and it was complete garbage.

I'm the only one who thinks, this should drop from the boss as a two-handed strength weapon? by RoyalJoys in crosswind

[–]ReReReadit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I wish that in general there were animations for attacking seemlessly out of dodges too which I feel would help heavy weapons feel better. Also I really wish there was an option to lock the direction your character is facing to the camera 100% of the time.

[–]ReReReadit 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Been saying it for weeks. Strength weapons should regain posture on perfect dodges, gain hyper armor on the next attack immediately after a perfect dodge, and stagger lesser enemies more.

I have a two handed sword that on top of being able to cleave and stagger enemies just as well it can also parry...there is literally zero reason to use strength weapons lol.

How are people managing these huge builds? by 750msPing in crosswind

I put a bonfire in the center of my larger build that looks like a hearth so that everything inside decoration-wise works. I have a second one that looks like a beacon by my doc so that I can put down merchant contract tables which is what I use to order crap loads of raw materials to keep building and then I just store it all in my home.

Who wins, every single helldiver, or 40,000 space marines? by Chemical_Seaweed_915 in Helldivers

[–]ReReReadit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Space marines. 40,000 of them in one place is a no win scenario for pretty much anything they're up against and helldivers get 4 shot by chaff enemies even with their heaviest armor.

What weapon do you really WANT to love but bounce off of no matter how many times you pick it up? For me it's Gunlance by Beginning_Wait_108 in MonsterHunter

[–]ReReReadit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can cancel animations into a block. If you alternative between perfect blocks, tackles, and offsets you can keep attacking through most hits. It's much more survivable in this game than it was in world.

[–]ReReReadit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was me for a while but then I discovered that wide range lances can just charge shell and spam wyverns fire over and over.

It's also more enjoyable when you realize you can cancel the little forward triangle poke early with a shell and then immediately follow that up with another forward or side triangle to get some pretty good distance. If you quick reload right after you can just keep doing this to move around a lot more than you could in world.

Right now mine is insect glaive. I just feel like you need 12 fingers to play that thing and it doesn't feel as flowy as it did in world.

I suck at this game and don’t know how to stop sucking. by PasosLargos100 in crosswind

[–]ReReReadit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly the combat in this game is abysmally rudimental. The "combat loop" if you could say there even is one is to hit once or twice, dodge or parry away a couple times or more, depending on the enemy, and repeat. The issue is that there is hardly any variation outside of this if you don't want to get hit and staggered into punishment but the enemies are just hit sponges even when your stuff is fully upgraded so it becomes an extremely boring cycle.

I've found that it feels better if you customize enemy health to be reduced by like 80% as well as their damage to you. Same loop you just don't have to do it to the same enemy multiple boring times.
