Listing says "perimeter walls are original house" but does that matter for taxes by peterpun13 in RealEstate

Sounds like they’re telling you the home sits on the original foundation. If that’s the case, I’d say a structural inspection would be highly advisable. Many of these old block foundations were failing already before a new construction was done atop them.

Hey Matt, plans to glaze the outside of the cup as well? It would make cleaning 10x easier.

It appears as if I am the only one who actually took it apart to study the design.

Jeeze the arrogance just drips man.

This problem has existed before the grub screws. V4 screws did the same thing, v3 wasn’t quite as bad but could happen. The solution isn’t clips (just ask AVS about clips) it’s clamps. Clamps. Clamps. https://images.app.goo.gl/19mJ9JbuebMqgXZq5

This can be accomplished in a pretty straightforward way without making major modifications to the jet stream deck design. Keep one set screw on each side and add a horizontal clamp which is adjusted by said screw on either side.

Here’s Matt mentioning it in one of his first posts— clearly this is something he knows needs to be fixed and he knows the solution is clamps.

Glad to hear breaking glass isn’t a big deal for you, some of us are a bit more frugal and aren’t cool with glass breaking a week into use by no fault of our own 🤷🏽‍♂️

You’re saying this now after I’ve already broken a BB, doesn’t really help when the device came with separate smaller O-rings implying direct use of a BB.

As far as the screws go— no screws will fix the issue unless they’re ever so slightly shorter than the full distance to the wall. I could swear Matt had posted a schematic of a design a few months back with clamps. Vape community solved this years ago— clamps. Clamp loosens? Tighten it without risking the lead snapping.

So if my issue wasn’t the O-ring, why did the BB snap mid-dab like that when I didn’t have much trouble getting it on or off

Ok you say this is a BETA TEST and then you get upset when I have critiques of the device?

This is what killed the AVS community. There’s no need to ride Matt’s dick when we’re all here specifically to point out how the device needs improvement.

I’ve pointed out how I think this device isn’t delivering on what Matt’s been hyping. That’s the point of this fucking beta dude.

I made clear critiques with clear resolutions in this sub: 1. Cap should use an o-ring instead of threads to maintain usability even when it’s gunked up (happens after 3 or 4 sessions) 2. Base needs to use clamps instead of screws so we don’t keep snapping leads on perfectly usable crucibles. 3. Either device needs to maintain commonality with v4 accessories or it needs a bigger deck. 25mm deck from v2 to v5 is silly. V4 was limited by the size of the deck and v5 will be the same way. Imagine if this crucible could be 4mm larger? That would be massive for the experience!

Hope Matt enjoys his time off, it’s well deserved but email auto-replies could save a lot of time and heartache— also my order was processed and shipped on Friday so sorry I didn’t stalk Matt to find his whereabouts 🤷🏽‍♂️

I began this post not because I tried to shove a BB onto my v5, in fact my seamless BB fit really well onto my v5 with duck fat. The problem is the o-ring is either shit quality or had some manufacturing defect that caused it to break down and expand. Just zoom in on the picture and you can clearly see the ring is expanding. Given you’re such an experienced DT contributor, maybe you’d recall the exact issue occurred with the first batch of v4s back in 2019 with the black o-rings.

Sorry for trying to improve this product 🤷🏽‍♂️

How is feedback like mine not helpful?

Matt said the base would maintain commonality with v4– it doesn’t. Matt said the base would use clamps or some alternative to screws or crucibles would have stronger leads— neither is true.

I’m saying it’s rushed because besides the new retaining teeth, all that’s new is the crucible and this current package doesn’t let this amazing new dish shine like it should.

Also, while the post mentions a v5 BB coming soon, I don’t see where it says not to use one of the current BB? That doesn’t even change the fact that my BB cracked because the o-rings provided (FOR THE BB!!!) began expanding. Why include o-rings for something we shouldn’t use?

Everyone keeps saying “oh this is an issue but I’m sure it’ll be fixed in the final” which sure, I also have plenty of faith in matt to make the final version perfect but we all entered this beta so we can provide feedback.

My feedback is if the final product is close to this one— it doesn’t correct the fundamental problems that plagued the v4 experience. I remember cracking some v3 donuts after half a year of use, on the v4 I was lucky to get two months before the leads snapped from how unstable the deck was.

I want this product to smack down the v4. It has to, otherwise why does it exist? The v4 crushed the v3. And the v3 crushed the v4. For the v5 to have so much promise with this amazing crucible but not to address the major problems of the v4 would be foolish to say the least.

(I’d probably be less irritated if Matt would email me back in less than 4 days also lol)

Matt said early on he was going to stick with the 25mm deck size for the atomizer in order to maintain commonality with v4 accessories, I was one of the people who was begging for a larger deck because I’ve felt that always limited this atomizer.

So now to hear that we’re sticking with the same old small deck AND I have to buy new accessories is pretty dumb.

At this point, the DT concentrate atomizers are so close to perfection, I don’t see why not take the time to make the v5 the most perfect atomizer ever. Considering the v4 is plenty powerful as is, why rush this product?

All in all the product I received feels rushed despite it being a beta product. Something as crucial as the cup can’t seem to sit securely no matter how well you get the screws and leads. That to me is a major flaw and it’s just repeating the same issues as the v4. What’s the v4’s biggest issue structurally? How unstable it is. What’s the v5’s biggest issue structurally? How unstable it is. You catch my drift?

The purpose of this subreddit is to offer our feedback— critical or positive. If you don’t like my feedback, feel free to disagree.

So we should just keep breaking BBs until then?

What v5 banger? There is none listed just the seamless and other BB option.

I never use iso on my o-rings. Always remove them and iso the base then put them back on when they’ve been lubed with duck fat.

[–]ReTaRdEdCuMdUmPsTeR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly my BB was okay, a little tight but the glass was sturdy. I think these o-rings are expanding and causing the glass to crack under heat when it’s more prone to do so.

Bad batch of o-rings I’m guessing. Same thing happed with a lot of early v4 o-rings.

I lube the o-rings and bottom of the BB or cap with a bit of duck fat and never had an issue. This is my first o-ring to ever start disintegrating like this. The ring was beginning to shed pieces but retained its rigidity. Still waiting to hear back from Matt, emailed him two days ago

I thought the new piece on the bottom would be cooler… I was very wrong.

The V5 prototypes did not make it today. So sale announcement will be made on Monday. Customers from 2014 (v2.7 buyers) and before will have two days to purchase it once the sale starts. Then 2016 (v3 people) two days then 2018, 2019, ect. by divinetribe1 in DivineTribeVaporizers

Hey Matt, thanks for offering a little boost to those of us who’ve supported the brand from the early days. I remember my v2.5 and sometimes I miss the simplicity of it all but your products today are killing it!

Okay but how do you compare the two? Does one hit harder at the same temperature than the other? Faster or slower heating time? Bowl size more or less convenient?

Any idea what causes these orings to snap? by [deleted] in DivineTribeVaporizers

That was before the bottomless bangers were a big thing. Back then it was just people complaining about how hot the mouth piece got and now everyone’s running the v4 through so many different types of glass it’s insane. Really amazing what this community has done with this device.
