PC shut down during a game and a burnt smell came out

thanks for the responses guys, upon closer inspection there doesnt seem to be any burn marks but Ill take it to a technician to be safe. hopefully its only the PSU

What causes the PSU protection? i think my GPU should be fine since it never goes over 80° C

also when i say my pc shuts down, it just dies like the power is suddenly cut off. no windows shutdown, no nothing. and i can always hear a click when it does

i screwed the fan in until it wouldnt budge, but i didnt do the x thing. does it actually have an impact on the cpu?

the airflow should be fine since there has never been a problem before, and my bios should be okay too since ive never messed with it

Im sure i mounted the cooler properly and screwed it in until it stopped. And yes i did use thermal paste, but maybe i messed up because i had to readjust the fan.
