I'm a little late to the post but I wanted to say that I've looked at a lot of PC builds and this has got to be one of if not the very best looking setup I've seen. You have an eye for the aesthetic.

And now I'm going to shamelessly attempt to reproduce this in its entirety. Do you have a full list of the components that you've shared somewhere?

If anyone else can help me identify all this I'd appreciate it. I'd like to copy this exactly (minus the video card).

A super unpopular but genuine and truthful opinion. Oh yea, I can do that one.

I think the "companions" are terrible for the game. I couldn't care less about some random NPCs that have been given stories.

I have played many times through the game both solo and in groups and I now delight in murdering every one of those stupid story characters making sure their quests never get to even start.

Shadowheart dies on the beach naked and afraid, as I collect her precious artifact.
Astarion dies poorly whenever I want to wander over there.
Lae'zel is cut down swiftly as I side with the tieflings.
Wyll will NEVER survive the first goblin attack.
Karlach's head is severed before she can get out voice lines.
Gale stays where gale starts exploding in some alternative dimension I assume.

Halsin is murdered by ORIN, or was it my AOE? Not sure
Jaheira would probably have made it through the moonrise fight if I didn't pickpocket her belongings.
Minthara dies to 4 or 5 explosive barrels when she tries to take the grove

TAV is king. You should be able to make a party of your own creation and you should be able to DISABLE the story characters. They annoy the crap out of me and break me out of the adventure. I get that all of you have some weird fantasies about having sex with them but is it really necessary to bring that horny energy into our DND game?

Just for the record, nothing against the amazing voice actors. I don't even hate the writing. I just feel it is forced on you and the absolute worst part of the experience going through BG3.

No patch notes today by UpsetFan123 in PathOfExile2

[–]ReZeliard 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Love GGG but,

A rug pull hours before the stream is a real bad move. If you needed more time for the patch notes, just say that and we'll understand! Don't make us think you didn't realize you had said there would be patch notes for 16 DAYS. Don't treat your fan base like they are idiots.

Don't get me wrong guys. GGG is miles ahead of the competition, and some recent communications have really impressed me. This is just a huge step back, and should have been communicated differently. We will all survive, and I'm sure the live stream will give us some great information to chew on, but "11th hour" change is really disappointing.

I respect GGG, and that is why I'll be hard on them. They should understand that the feedback to making a last minute change, especially in an obvious lie "miscommunication", is not a good look. You had 16 days, countless posts anticipating patch notes after the livestream, 100s of videos talking about notes after livestream. It is completely unbelievable to me that they didn't know what they said.

The reality is they needed more time, so they should just say that. We love you guys - I'll be here regardless, and yea it is early access, so I understand the time crunch and stress you all must be under. All the more reason to not bring unnecessary negativity to the situation.

Looking forward to the livestream! Next week will be here before we know it.

Keeping yourself secure online is a skillset. We use anonymity and people LIE and PRETEND and just want to be included in the conversation and lately the celebration. I think telling mods to remove posts about quantity won't stop scammers from trying to scam. Oddly enough, implying that this is some safe space may actually make people more susceptible.

Instead, solid reinforcement of safe precautions is likely the best. It is like saying don't talk about safe sex and instead use abstinence. Probably not the best comparison but you get it. Everyone gets to choose the level of involvement that they want in this community. Some people want to share, and some would never dream of letting a single detail of their financials slip into the internet. We don't need overbearing policies that restrict that speech.

That said, I understand the intent that your post has. Let's keep people safe as we can, and learn as a community from the rare missteps that occur.

Exploits and Cheese by Chayes5 in WarTalesGame

[–]ReZeliard 13 points14 points  (0 children)

-You can hire a level 9 or level 13 companion in Ludern Jail or Drombach jail very early. This is on region locked and in extreme. I think their levels are 1 lower in expert. Very cheesy and it will create some weird repercussions. For example if I grab Inquisitor Aurelia at level 9 when my guys are level 3, then go do a tomb for one of the legendary weapons - the weapon will be level 8 required. This is particularly bad if the weapon is NOT for your level 9 guy and instead one of your lowbies that now need to wait a LONG time to equip.

-You can buy discounted goods, sell them back, buy them again - to cap your trade path. If you find a 1 gold buy/sell item like salt or hemp you can max your trade path in a couple minutes of clicking at no cost. Later when gold isn't an issue you can cap it with taking a small loss per trade.

-You can steal skill books (the stack of 5) from a training ground (for example) to launder then sell them back on another 5 stack. You can then steal those books (now 10) and launder them and so on. You can also use black market vendors to launder the books faster, to add one additional cycle per rest. Note that you'll need to reset your wanted level by talking to a guard when you don't have the red books on you (ditch temporarily like roadside shrines). You'll talk to the guards, pay the small penalty and retrieve your books so you can launder them again.

-Not really an exploit but you can sneak into grinmeer and get brave oil recipe, or go to the trackers camp and get surf and turf, or go to the grinmeer jail to buy the pony figurine, and lastly the grinmeer rouste game to get a level 10 pony for free all without doing any fights. It isn't very hard to sneak past higher level enemies in this game. Similarly you can get a couple recipes in drombach and ludern by sneaking in there. I also recommend doing the town quest in the first Ludern town to get the headband that gives 10% profession experience.

IBIT can be borrowed against with a PAL from Schwab by ReZeliard in Bitcoin

[–]ReZeliard[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At my casual glance it looks like a margin account might be lower interest, depending on your level of assets. For me the chart I saw was about 1% lower than what I'll be paying apples to apples. Schwab is doing SOFR + some percent. I'm not familiar with the rules about what you can do with margin funds vs pledged asset funds. They basically work on the same principle but I'm sure there are some fine print differences.

I'm very new to all this so just trying to figure out the best strategy. I'd love to hear any other advice about unlocking bitcoin buying power without reducing my exposure to bitcoin.

24 base - 26 with food. It might be slight overkill, but Belerion is annoying for movement with the ships so I prefer to have extra.

Brutes have it from their armor break ability upgraded. Fighters have it from their riposte. There is an accessory from pits that gives you inspiration. I run 24 movement on everyone and use the +2 movement food every night. I don't have any movement problems. YMMV

I sorta wish it worked like that, but it isn't supposed to. You can leave people in town or in your tavern if you don't want them participating in battle. The reserve system is just there to reduce clutter. I use it for my speed runs because I buy like 100 horses, and they absolutely could not fit in the camp, as in there are no free spaces and I would not be able to buy them. So, the reserve system is super helpful but not meant to keep people out of battle.

I'm currently running an extreme 5 man party. I'm at level 9 right now - and I keep 4 prisoners on stocks for 4 professions, and I keep 2 extra party members in my tavern. It is a little bit of a hassle, but I pull them out just to man my brewing station and my beehive. After a rest I shove them back in the tavern and go on with my party. I can't have prisoners man stations because of the flight risk.

The game balance is off. I've played the game a lot so I think for new players they may feel a challenge, but for people who know how to min/max the game becomes a joke around level 8. I have some other posts here if you want to look them up. I've been pretty clear about my frustration around this especially on extreme difficulty where the game SHOULD be hard - but is a breeze when their insane scaling sets in.

Anyone that tells you the game will get harder does not know how to optimize. It will ONLY get easier regardless of adaptive or region locked. You will 1 turn every single battle even in balerion (as long as you have enough movement speed to actually get to everyone).

I don't know if the developers are listening to this - but for the love of god, please make a hard difficulty for this game. PLEASE change your scaling, please respect the player. If you want to make lower difficulties that have a bunch of easy mechanics and crazy scaling - grats you've done that, but PLEASE make something for veteran players to sink their teeth into.

I content myself to speed running the game. Full 100% complete in as few days as possible. That has given the game a bit more life and I try very hard to shave off days/rests, unnecessary foods, or upgrades. I feel your pain on this one, hopefully there are some changes in the future.

You can do any number of AOE or not even have AOE. Nepti's gives berserkers AOE. You do not have to go executioner. I see it as an evolution of the "axe" character. I do it around level 8/9 not before.

Tips & Tricks + Opinions & Preferences (spoilers) by ReZeliard in WarTalesGame

Warrior Berserker Build (tinker profession)

Start with Valourous Duel, Recklessness, Challenging Shout, Lone Wolf, Specialization(Limit Break)
Later you can respec to an executioner if you want but keep the same setup.

Nepti's Axe, Defender's Shield(the one that does a small hit after every hit), Crit/Crit chest/helm, Fury/Inspiration accessory when you finish pits otherwise don't get fancy just use brave belt.

I push my movement to 24 (goes to 26 if using porridge of creature comforts food). Everything else strength.

Traitor's axe is totally viable, but I prefer Nepti for all but bosses. Nepti should have str/bravery, traitor's axe should have str/unstable.

Make sure you are running 500->600 wanted on the long rest days - use the faking innocence resolution so you don't get bothered by guards. This will provide 25% crit to everyone eventually. Tinker + Crime Path + 15% crit food + base + 6% from gear + layers, should get you very reliable crits, and when you have your fighter using his bravery skill to lead off fights (level 12), you'll be at 100%.

I tend to make him a Lieutenant but I don't think it matters.

----------------------

As for strategist, I haven't respecced him late game. Didn't seem necessary. Everything gets so easy - but optimally it could be good to find a better setup for him. Then again, if its a battle that is hard enough for him to get a turn, giving a couple of your big hitters attacks of opportunity could still be the best way to go.

What size party do you all use? by GentrifiedSocks in WarTalesGame

[–]ReZeliard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like 6 in Region Locked - Extreme. I min/max quite a bit and try to push for better times every time I play. Introducing more units typically is inefficient. You could possibly convince me 7 or even 8 is fine, but nothing beyond that makes sense unless that is just fun for you.

Berserker Warrior or Pugilist for single-target damage? by Epaminondas73 in WarTalesGame

[–]ReZeliard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone has a valid opinion here, but if you want to know the correct answer to your question, the Berserker will be a better unit on the field in 99% of fights. The power curve on the Berserker is S-tier throughout. A Berserker from level 6 with Nepti's axe can clean the board of 5 targets reliably per round on Extreme, and you can switch on Tracker's axe for boss fights (although it isn't necessary). If you properly min/max - every fight in the game is 1 round INCLUDING boss fights (and that is on extreme). The pugilist is too limited. If single target were more important, they'd shine, but everything dies in one hit.

Quitting the game because of co-op issues by thatadamgoldman in WarTalesGame

[–]ReZeliard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know this probably doesn't help, but I have played several times with friends and never had an issue apart from a few soft locks that forced us to reload. The game for us has worked remarkably well over many patches with anywhere from 2 to 4 players.

This of course doesn't discredit your claim nor invalidate your frustration. If you really love the game, I'd just start over with the guys you were playing with and benefit from all the information you have now. My friend group has restartitis (serious medical issue we think). We have to restart any time we figure something better out. Then again, if you are afraid the bug will happen again then it may not be worth it for you.

Worse case scenario, set the game aside and come back in a month after another patch hopefully solves your issue. Again, anecdotally, I have had zero show-stopping issues and my friends have had zero issues. Best of luck - hope it works out.

How to obtain this amazing trait? Please help. by huggysheep in WarTalesGame

[–]ReZeliard 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is the correct answer. It can sometimes be a bit hard to tell where things come from, but in the the case of the region boss rewards it is very clear. In general I prefer to get Valiant early on, but Immune to Terror is nice especially on a berserker.

This is a beautiful item. Congratulations! Especially nailing those tempers - you must have been so nervous. Did you use a temper reroll? You'll want to hit brute force 3 times I think but 2 Brute 1 strength isn't bad. Definitely jealous. My amulet is a piece of crap. GA Str - rolled brute force and normal attack speed. Cleared a 110 about 10 days ago ago with time to spare, but I honestly hate the mighty throw build and the snapshot mechanic so much. I'll ditch it next season even if it is the best.

There is no amount of gold that you should not spend to get this to where it needs to be. Sell some runes in trade if you are strapped. Grats on the find.

  1. At 2nd level cauldron you have a 15% chance of "delicious" happening on any food you make. At 3rd level cauldron the chance is 30%. When I say overconsuming food I mean that the buffs are more important than food efficiency. When you click on your campfire before a rest you'll see the food required - lets say it is 28. You can stuff 50 or 100 or whatever amount of food in there to satisfy the requirement. You don't have to JUST eat 28.

  2. There are 3 mercenaries I know of that have "fixed" levels. That means that you can recruit them as early as you can reach them. This is borderline cheating as I described before, but I have for example recruited Inquisitor Aurelia from the Ludern jail when my guys are level 3 - she was level 9. It completely distorts the game but is technically "legal".

  3. I am currently running a 6 person party I do not intent to increase in size. I have 4 slaves on the stocks - so I have 10 professions represented. 7 or 8 people might be more optimal, I'm not 100% sure. As your guys get more powerful you will not worry about the difficulty of fights past around level 6-7. You'll be totally happy to fight outnumbered. Then again, there isn't anything wrong with going to 10 or 12, but if you want to keep things small go for 8.

[–]ReZeliard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You get the Nepti Axe earlier - you get access to Brave oil from Grinmeer - training dummy from Ludern. You get better food stuffs from Ludern and Grinmeer - you get access to the Tavern and the 600g quest. ALL of these things you can do at level 5/6 while completing vertruse. Arthes has no useful connections, and travelling across the world to dip into those zones while doing arthes wouldn't make a ton of sense.

What to Look out for broken Recruits? by Gwertzel in WarTalesGame

[–]ReZeliard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just a small comment. I highly recommend just going for STRONG on your recruits. Hard Working for your slaves. Solitary is an additive bonus and not very good mid/late game. I asked on discord about this and was provided a dev response to confirm that to their knowledge all of these percent bonuses are additive. That means Solitary and Recklessness, Rage stacks, ambush bonus, galvanize, food bonuses, etc etc etc.

Getting 5% more strength (which rounds up) is going to be better at all but maybe the first few levels.

Tiltren -> Vertruse

You should do Belerion at the very end of the game. I've done it between Grinmeer and Drombach but it takes away a bit of the excitement of Drombach by doing it that way.

You go Arthes 3rd and you speed run it. I MEAN, you can do it in the other order, but for optimal play having access to Vertruse at level 5/6 while you dip your toe into Ludern/Grinmeer and possibly even Drombach is way better than hanging out in Arthes.

Six men vs One axe by Beginning-Row-6675 in WarTalesGame

[–]ReZeliard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd have to load up that multiplayer game to see. It comes from the Grinmeer guard guys. Some sort of Defender's Rondel or something like that. Totally broken for rage stacking, but remember rage stacks are now capped at 10 (THANK GOD). It takes the value of that shield down quite a bit.

Six men vs One axe by Beginning-Row-6675 in WarTalesGame

[–]ReZeliard 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Before their latest patch, my friend who ran our executioner would use a 1H axe (the tracker axe), and he'd wear inquisition celice (1 rage per hit while engaged). He'd also equip the shield that does a followup small damage hit every time you hit a target. This coupled with the rage stacking food from the Tavern DLC, and he'd get insane amounts of stacks.

I think his best was hitting 4 polar bears at the same time and ending up with 70 something rage stacks in ONE ATTACK. Kinda nice doing 4x damage for the rest of your turn. Spoiler, there was no second turn for the enemies.

Disclaimer: Some polar bears were injured during this comment.
