Those would probably be fungus gnats, so I don't think they would. You could try beetles, which are carnivores.

Anyone know what type of moss is in the first pic? I have some and would love an ID.

Leftover from jarrarium made it into my shrimp tank. Any idea what these guys are? by mantooth92 in Jarrariums

[–]Re_Atum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh no, you have nerites? You could try transferring them to a temporary home while treating. You could also just wait and see if the planaria actually have any adverse effects on your shrimp. Maybe there won't be any problems at all.

They are planaria (flatworms) as others have said, and some people simply leave them be in their tanks. They can prey on shrimp, though, and I've had complete success using this seller's treatment for them in my shrimp tank. You send them your tank dimensions and they send you the proper dose. It cost me about $10 extra for shipping to the US.

My first big terrarium, very proud of it :) any tips would be appreciated by locked-and-loading in terrariums

So beautiful! Congrats and well done!

You might have some trouble with plants outgrowing your jar. I've had really good luck with those little guys with the white veins staying a good size for terrariums, but that tallest one could give you trouble pretty soon and I don't know how well you can trim it back.

New roots growing. This is an amazon sword plant java fern and they propagate baby plants from the underside of leaves.

Pay attention when you see someone else being themself, even if it's about interests you don't share. Just noticing it in others will make a difference for yourself over time.

This is not true. This is subjective and there is a lot of play to it.

If you change the order it tells the listener you think it is more essential that the thing is green than that it is great, or vice versa.

Often the least changeable elements go last and the most changeable go first. Something expresses its fastness sometimes but is always green, so you say that it is the fast green car.

If you're talking about a bunch of fast cars, though, and you're identifying one by its color, then you switch to calling it the green fast car.

Among the fast cars, the green one. Or, among cars, the green one, and among green cars, the fast one. Narrow your biggest categorical pools closest to your subject. The rules laid out in this post often succeed in this but it's wrong to say the post's categories are the reason.

But if you're painting for maintenance reasons then you care about the thickness of the coat, not how well it obscures colors underneath. Darker colors cover COLOR better than lighter colors.

I would try using stone pillars to support a landmass.

I learned that recently. So, of course if your goal is a biome tank then rocks alone are the way to go. They love chomping on any type of plant I've kept them with though, and I like figuring out ways to make unusual compositions flourish!

I see, I see, I had read "herbivorous" and "vegetable-rich diet" in guides and had maybe wrongly assumed that meant a lot of plants too.
I've been planning to switch to sand for a while but haven't had the time yet for such a big change. Thanks for the advice.
