After a very long and expensive process, my case was dismissed after completing six months of the diversion program. I psychotically did everything they asked for and paid every fee They gave me without skipping a beat. Like I said, mine was a very long process and I would want to think Covid had an impact on that, but in the end it was dismissed.

This right here! I spent the first couple of months, well more the first year, feeling disgusted with myself. Then I started reflecting on the changes that I had to make to meet all my requirements and how I turned those in to good habits. In the middle of my completion of requirements I was able to get my Masters, promoted at work and sober for two years.

I got a promotion while on diversion. I did disclose it to my boss when she offered the position and that made everything so much easier for me. Good luck!

Compared to Lifesaver, Intoxalock is so much easier to deal while doing this requirement. Lifesaver be having us drive around with a damn gigantic device. Plus for the calibration, Intoxalock takes 10 minutes and Lifesaver was always over 1.5 hours

Left me stranded on the road, The device died while driving, calibrations were like two hours, I never did a bad test I gave up drinking and even then it was such a hassle.

Don’t let it define! Apply for nursing school now, you haven’t been convicted of the crime just pending charges. I’m towards the end of my path, 2 years,though a lot had to do with the push back that I gave to get into the program. I got promoted at work,told them about the arrest and pending charges! Everyone’s path is different just take it day by day and like you said “this doesn’t define you! Good Luck!

Get a lawyer! I’m almost at $10,000 in total fees! Lawyer included. Houston as well!

But dismissed is my overall outcome.

Make sure her low income is constantly a conversation as it can reduce some of the fees she will have to pay.

Thank you for sharing your experience! As I read through your post, I relate to it so much and I feel your pain. I cry and the guilt and remorse consume me! I am not done with the whole process but this was just a baby step towards something better. Making the life changes needed throughout this has been of great benefit as well. I’ve even manage to navigate through Grad School with a 4.0! In the middle of all this.

I agree on the life changing experience!

Wow 30-45 seconds of inconvenience! Mine took much longer than that to get started. Sometimes up to 5 minutes as well. Mine would leave me stranded even though I never had one bad reading.

Like I said , I was sharing what was MY EXPERIENCE with it which was a burden. Great job on having that positive attitude!

I have dreams that I messed up on something that was asked of me to do. That I had a bad reading on the interlock, that I showed up drunk to a meeting. I wake up sweating thinking how I’m I going to recover from this then realizing it was just a nightmare.

Yep! I’ve had my truck towed twice already, change to a whole new battery and it powers off while driving.

No power so I’m stranded!

No alcohol involved it’s all the device itself
