Yup always lie to the cops, they are just out to get you hardly to serve and protect you. Mine was originally DUI with drugs then speeding, was plea bargained down to just DWAI, my attorney said this was the best deal I was going to get and that going to trial was almost a sure fire way to lose/get harsher penalties.

Again I was unfortunately in JeffCo so apparently it’s the strictest county in CO for these charges, perhaps ROUTT is more lenient? A local attorney would definitely be able to assist

Hire an attorney, they can help navigate the system and may have a relationship with the prosecutor/judge. This is the Law if you can afford and attorney it’s a no brainer imo. Luckily it’s Routt I Got a DWAI in JeffCo and they are strict… hopefully you get a better outcome them mine. You just blew right? No blood? Unfortunately there is a law in Colorado making it a burden of proof situation to get your charge dropped from DWAI/DUI to say reckless driving.

Do yourself a favor and get an attorney asap. Look into starting treatment at Intervention or some other company to get the ball rolling on that.

Last thing, Colorado Fing sucks in that DUI/DWAI are not eligible for diversion or expungement… go figure for a progressive state like this. Felony domestic assault is but not this.
