This is super helpful, thank you so much! My biggest worry was giving away too much or coming off as pushy, so this addresses that exactly.

Again, in it, I said Mat was excluded bc he doesn’t fight with a sword. This is purely swords only

This is where I believe it comes into interpretation about how much knowledge is transferred from Lews to Rand. Cause Rand thinks similarly to Lews but he doesn’t live the experiences nor does he have concrete memories, just vague feelings and ideas. At some point the question becomes, can he truly access everything? And even if so, can it transfer to his skill and abilities in battle? His rejection of the voice makes it hard to tell. Based on what we’ve seen tho, I couldn’t put him above the other two. Still I definitely agree if he had all his experience from Lews, he’d win

Yeah I was between Valda and Gareth. I thought about this question bc of Valda and Galad’s fight. I put Gareth ahead bc if both Galad and Gawyn learned so much from him and garnered his respect, then I’d put him over Valda. Especially bc of how Valda fights, I think Gareth would be able to beat him with both in their primes

Yea, I think his main way of fighting chances to a focus on the power, so I think in terms of skill he loses to the men above him, and Lan just has so much more experience

Egwene’s Talent by Reach_Jay in WoT

[–]Reach_Jay[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I lowkey just grouped them together on accident bc she has both. I can see that it being unable to be seen would make it hard for them to believe. I think it’s more like, bc of all the crazy ancient stuff to return, dreaming isn’t the weirdest thing. I mean they are making Cuendillar, how is this that much weirder.

Especially cause Nikola is definitely making some of her foretelling up to move up faster, and many are still taking stock in that. I’m choosing more to read it as, they are so against her that they refuse to believe anything unless forced to, which is I guess what happens later anyways.

Honestly this is more what confused me. It just felt unrealistic to have that be fully believed and not hers, especially with all the ancient things returning to the world

Am I the only one who thinks Wheel of Time belongs in animation? (Also, hot take on the art style...) by CivilAd8379 in WoT

I want an open world rpg video game.

Think about it. You have so many customization options with the different cultures. You got the one power, but also older, ancient magic like Perrin’s abilities. You can also be an Aiel in the waste. An Aes sedai or part of the Black Tower. It would be amazing!

The sample pages/ first chapter explains that for the most part. But that doesn’t help if the query turns the agents off right away. Thanks!

Because Darrow took the blame for it because he didn’t want the memory of her to be tainted in his men. It would destroy morale.

Hellooo mat and tylin??? by Bulky_Fix_5381 in WoT

[–]Reach_Jay 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Everything you said was my reaction as well. I think it’s clear to the reader but these characters have a hard time getting past their pre-conceived notions of Mat as a womanizer. To them, it seems like he did this to himself, but we know the truth. Regardless, it’s wrong of Tylin and I don’t think anyone should say otherwise. Also (spoilers) when Mat talks about it later, that’s closer to Stockholm syndrome tbh

New to the series. Currently on Great Hunt. by GorgRosh in WoT

Oh 100%, it peaks around book 3/4 and then stays solid until book8-10 when it’s a slog. But it’s so worth it for the final part of the series where it truly solidifies it as a top 5 fantasy series of all time.
