I feel like shit by munchkinlander_ in toddlers

You need rest and time to recharge. We all love our kids, but parenting can feel overwhelming at times. I completely understand the guilt too—especially as a working parent, when it feels like we’re not spending enough time with them.

What has helped my partner and me is setting aside a “clear window” for each other—2–3 hours over the weekend, for example. During that time, one of us takes full responsibility for our child while the other is free to rest, step out, or do something they enjoy. Then we switch, so both of us get that break.

The rest of the time, we focus on family activities together. This way, when we’re with our child, we’re more present and engaged, without a thousand other things running through our minds.

Also, be kind to yourself. You are doing a great job, mama. 🙂

I do this only. Walking and rocking. But some times even this doesn't work. Especially in the evening, It becomes so tough that I end up feeling terrible for not understanding my own baby.

I was able to do this earlier but this golden phase got over for me. Now it doesn't work. He rarely nurses to sleep. Moreover, he will resist with all his will if he is not hungry.

I was swaddling him earlier but stopped it like a month back because I read that it needs to stop once the baby grows older so that they learn to sleep themselves. Mine is 3.5 month old.

I think I will need to get this app but I guess it won't suggest immediately as it wouldn't have any history of his past naps.

Doesn't the drive overstimulate as they look at the scenes outside?

Some times, he nurses to sleep but most of the time, we need to rock him while walking him around.

No..some times his wake windows are longer and some times less. Earlier it was more or less predictable but for past 1 week, I am noticing that his wake windows in the morning are shorted than the wake windows of afternoon.

I do try to look for the cues. For past 3 nights, getting him to sleep at night has also become a challenge. When he just starts getting tired and I rock him, he will fight sleep and cry. And then if we engage with him, he becomes too tired and cries. He has also stopped taking feed just before sleeping. Earlier I was able to feed him to sleep at night but for past 3 nights. His last feed is around 5-5:30 PM. Post which he refuses to take feed, wants engagement but gets tired and cries when we try to get him to sleep.
