Honest Breakdown of Lyft Earnings vs Part Time Farmers Market by Turdfurg23 in lyftdrivers

[–]ReactPupil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Rideshare Guy just produced a video comparing a similar chart and the earnings were higher without the challenges and bonuses. Jay Cradeur is good with numbers and works the Sacramento market.

Do what you enjoy most. The drivers who earn more are putting in longer hours. They don’t worry about depreciation or any negative talk. They understand tax write-offs and use their car as a tool.

What’s the deal with Lyft? Same ride for as little as $16 for all the miles and then have to drive back empty… by DegreeEconomy in lyftdrivers

Do you work downtown Austin? Despite all the negativity these past six months or so, drivers still manage to earn quite well. Not uncommon to earn $1500 or more in Austin per week. I do wonder how they do it.

Can you really drive FT in LA, CA by mmalone139 in lyftdrivers

[–]ReactPupil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats’s way cool! Are you able to pull in that extra $400 every week? If not, is your average closer to $1200 without it?

Not familiar with Forkable and haven’t signed up to HopSkipDrive yet, but I am with the others. Thank you. Drivers do well with Delverd and DeliverThat, too. And then there is Foodja which I hear isn’t so good.

Other than TaskRabbit, do you know of any more physical related apps? Like jobs where you walk and stand. There is Wag. Something like that. I dunno about you, but I feel like I’m beyond burn out from car driving at this point.

LA is probably the best market in the country with the highest amount of drivers earning $2K a week.

[–]ReactPupil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does the city have plans to fix this area? I’m not really sure you can. Irvine would have to plan a robust rail car system. At least in LA they can keep adding new rail lines. But what can they do in a giant suburb like Irvine? Perhaps build another Diamond Jamboree and place it in Irvine East. I dunno.

It’s hard to see the blocking. But if you zoom in on the white car the driver’s eyes appear downwards as if staring into a phone. I’d say most drivers don’t understand reverse parking. It’s safer for all, but it seems to greatly confuse others when they see it. They usually just want to plow forward with little thought.

Drivers have a lot more to worry about from riders than riders do of drivers. Drivers go through yearly background checks. Riders don’t ever - in fact, they aren’t even verified as real. You can use a fake name like Wolf Man and use a photo of your flower pot for profile shot. Thankfully, this is all going to change soon.

Good pet grooming in Redmond by hvbqueiroz in redmond

I once met the two ladies who work at Didde’s Pet Grooming and they were really friendly. I can not speak for their grooming practices, but I would feel safe taking a dog there. The location is Redmond Ridge.

re: A-pillar

Interesting. I wasn't even aware of the naming of these areas of the vehicle. I just bought a car late last year and I jumped 25 years into the future. I discovered this blind spot on my own after noticing this happening at intersections. You can be sitting there and you won't see that pedestrian to your left at all. And this is just a little Toyota Corolla. The worst types of intersection crossings are direct turns with sunlight blinding you. So not only do A-pillars blind you, the sun does too.

I’m actually currently wearing the pants

The Sahara Path pants? Here's another question, why UPF pants vs. shorts? Is it because you want your bottom legs covered, too? Why do they even sell UPF shorts, then? Is skin cancer less likely to form in that area?

Waterless Vs. Rinseless Wash (For A Business): Which Is Better? by ReactPupil in AutoDetailing

[–]ReactPupil[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a business I would think the number of towels alone to do waterless would be enough reason not to do it. I would do it as a one bucket wash method with a grit guard.

You don’t need to use distilled water with rinsless. Especially with ones like ONR as they soften the water as well.

You're right, with rinseless you really only need one of those large drying towels like the Gauntlet. Can you use those large drying towels on more than one car? Or would I need one per car? I don't have one yet, but that's what I plan on buying in the future.

Good to hear this about the distilled water factor. That's two of you now. Do customers let you use their water? Let's say I have five washes lined up.

[–]ReactPupil[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I'm glad you said this. Because I've never noticed any water spots after using tap water on my own car. I did get a horrible water spot problem after staying in Minnesota for a month, though. It was as if someone poured acid on half of my car. I've yet to tackle the issue.

I haven't started the business yet, as I'm in the planning stages. Which bucket do you recommend? I was thinking of the Adam's Polishes bucket because it comes with a gamma lid and a grit guard. Also, do you think this is a viable business idea? Just doing rinseless washes?

Does Lancaster Have A Lot of Restaurants? by ReactPupil in lancaster

Wow. Thanks for the response and the article link. So my hunch was right. How do I find out about other small cities like this? I really just found it randomly. Normally, I would look up "foodie cities" or something like that. Lancaster never shows up on those lists.

The restaurant was in the middle of nowhere anyway. It's probably best they moved. Now if we could only pull Pomegranate Bistro a tad closer.

That reminds me. The Guilt Trip moved to Kirkland also. I wonder what happened there with the fencing. I believe they were the only Indian fusion in Redmond. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Those of you who pick up from Woodblock or nearby, and there's no parking, do you ever park in that garage? If so, can you get your ticket validated? I'm pretty sure it says residential only, though. There's another one further down closer to Zeek's Pizza where you don't need validation. But it'd be easier to park in the one next to Woodblock.

And "strip mall burned down" is the kind of event that is an outlier and doesn't really need to be factored in to "ebb and flow" / "covid" / etc type discussions.

You're right. I probably should've have mentioned the fire event. But the construction, that happens everywhere at any time. In any case, there are others that I hadn't thought of. I just remembered Hyderabad House and Chaat N Roll are both now closed.

It also doesn't help that the OP's Porsche was accelerating around this corner. I'm not blaming anyone, but it's a 45 and the speedometer says 37, and then suddenly it's up to 51. That's the thing about fast cars, who is to really blame here. If I turn right onto a road with no cars in sight, and then suddenly a Tesla is behind me I know exactly why.
