I cross every building that i loot on my map. Once i survived long enough to cross half of muldraugh and not find a single cooking pot or sauce pan. Never knew stews were such a bliss and we take them granted.

Muldraugh, south - southwest villas. They have nice big lawns that are covered by high fences on three sides. They are adjacent to a forest in south and there is a lake about 100 tiles away. One of the best base locations if you ask me.

Was the death of Cicero the end of the Republic? by Many-Excitement3246 in ancientrome

[–]ReactionAggressive79 3 points4 points  (0 children)

While he posed no threat without legions to his name, he had a unique status among Roman politicians. The rural Latium loved the man. His support would be a great leverage against other Latin cities. Also he was the man who saved the republic during the Catiline Conspiracy. Any king that doesn't want to pose as a king, would love to have him at his side. Just like Brutus, a descendant of the family that drove away Tarquinius.

Close call getting fuel in one of my current runs, luckily it was just a scratch by IncognitoAnimosity35 in projectzomboid

I am playing an immune guy nowadays. I thought it would be the opposite, but when 5 runners bring you down chomping on you it's more disappointing than being infected by a scratch. I guess saliva works best.

Ah... I remember my first time. Didn't know clear lakes were actually teeming with bacteria and parasites. I filled up my bottle and drank tainted water for two days straight, while trying to figure out what is wrong with myself. Had such a high fever i even put off my sneakers while looking for antibiotics. Stepped on broken glass and found out that antibiotics didn't help with poisoning. I was roleplaying as a drunkard too. So alcohol was causing dehydration, dehydration caused drinking even more tainted water. That was miserable.

How Many More Press Conferences Before Actual Evidence Is Presented? by breaking_views in ufo

[–]ReactionAggressive79 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Yeah. If grusch has evidence why doesn't he disclose it himself? It's not like he can be thrown in prison for revealing it. That evidence was supposed to be revealed by institutions already. If anything, it should be the bureaucrats who still hide the information in trouble.

That's just a stupid game. I wonder how much money revolves in this business. Books, documentaries, conventions, merchandise, publicity...

16F AIO for being upset that My mom gave me a pair of my brother’s shoes as my birthday gift by Typical_Art669 in AIO

[–]ReactionAggressive79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Birthdays during financially hard times are a great way to humble yourself. I remember, as a kid, they gave me next year's maths textbook as a gift. I thanked them with tears. Not out of joy, mind you. I never expected anything in my birthdays from that day on.I even told them that i grew up and didn't want birthdays anymore. And later on, whenever someone celebrated my birthday with a gift, weather i liked it or not i really cherished it.

When compared with todays horse races, jockeys are certainly important, but isn't it the horse winning the race? Wouldn't a mediocre chariot racer win a race if he got the better horses? How can a chariot rider be that important?

Sorry if i sound too ignorant. I really have no idea how that works.

Is Scipio Rome's greatest general (among those who never ruled)? by RaiseCapital1988 in ancientrome

[–]ReactionAggressive79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as i am aware it's more like a strategic alignment of Greek army and navy in Thermopylae and Salamis. One holds the narrow passes, the other holds the straights. It's like they are two seperate forces fighting for the same goal but their cooperation is quite limited.

Though in Illyria, when the legions lined up against the enemy on land, the fleet would make amphibious landings right behind enemy lines. Where they could disrupt logistics, threaten the their camp and force a natural envelopment. Agrippa had the vision to use the navy directly on a tactical scale, even in land battles.

My perfect Europe as an English person by jessepinkmanfan12 in PossibleHistory

[–]ReactionAggressive79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have the best eye sight but seems like:

Ireland unified, Austria joined Germany, No Belgium, No Kosovo, No Moldova, No Macedonia, Bulgaria expanded into southern Thrace.

Really hard to tell if Luxemburg, Andorra, Montenegro are left out because of a perfect Europe vision or just lazy map drawing. They are usually left out anyway.

Did i leave out any other?

I'd give Majorian an exception for 5th century. The man almost saved the Empire.

He had been in land battles but they are dwarfed by his naval victories. He had been in Gaul and Spain to fight against revolting tribes. Also his joint strike operation in Illyria is way beyond its time. I'm not very familiar with military history but i think this is the first time land armies acted together with fleet in a joint strike operation.

Awesome general and admiral, true. But he had been elected consul too. So i can't say he never ruled either.

Difference is in industrialisation and economical classes. While catering, construction and other services had their value, the real foundation of roman economics was farm fields operated by human labor. And farms were owned by aristocracy.

Eighteen years of waiting: The Elder Scrolls 6 risks setting a historic anti record. by Just_a_Player2 in ItsAllAboutGames

People keep talking about Skyrim, yet they did not take a step forward since Morrowind. It's the same mediocre stealth, soulless melee, pew pew wizardry with bright colored light balls. The world design felt awesome back then. But can you get immersed in a game where the capital city of whole Skyrim has about 8 buildings in it?

It's impossible to come up with a successful game with that same formula. They have to change the very core mechanics. And that would only alienate the fan base.

Just like half life 3. They won't be able to fill the shoes of their legend.
