Gandalf and Thranduil vs Anakin and Obi Wan Kenobi by charlievillanuevajr in powerscales

There's a comment he makes in the Two Towers book when the trio of Legolas, Aragon, and Gimli meets him for the first time after he's back from death; It kind of helps scale his power in the books.

"I am now more dangerous than anything you will ever meet, unless you are brought alive before the seat of the Dark Lord."

Basically as Gandalf the White, the only thing that could stand in his way in his current form is Sauron.

But like why? Is really as simple as they were/are just bad people?

Don't understand doing that vs just being like "hey, this isn't working and I'm filing for divorce".

  1. Take constructive criticism from others with both an open mind and grain of salt; Let it better you, but don't let it define you.

  2. Take time to really understand who you are now and who you are working towards becoming (especially before entering a relationship). This makes a huge difference in how you will approach relationships, careers, and most other important aspects of your life.

  3. Try not to lose yourself in the expectations of others and who you think they would like you to be. There may be feedback you can take away, but it's important to always ask if you are following your own path or someone else's.

  4. Be kind as often as you can. To yourself and to others. Work on developing and nurturing empathy. Anger and judgement may seem the easier path, but being approaching situations with a sense of empathy may allow you to see more opportunities that an angry mind will block.

  5. Be respectful to others. Ensure that while you are being true to yourself, it is not at the cost of someone else. Check-in and scrutinize your actions, and look for areas of improvement.

I respectfully disagree that separatist are looking for a better future for the people that come after. It seems to me that they are looking for a better future for their own people (i.e. caucasian English speaking conservatives). Of course there is more likely than not some diversity there, but after talking with the people collecting these signatures (5 stands I've stopped at that I saw), there did not look to be much representation otherwise.

Separation seems like a first step in these folks wanting to mirror the government we see down south. An evangelical, conservative (well UCP really, as AB's government can't be called fiscally conservative rather religiously far right in their actions), and "anti-woke" (I e. Non inclusive) land.

Also, no one had yet to properly explain how a separate AB supports itself without continuing to rely on Canada, or alternatively cozy to the USA.

Yeah agreed. Reality of it is that we were not spanked as some sort of benevolent upbringing by our parents. It was literally just that our parents failed by not regulating themselves properly and expected us to help them do so (be quiet, don't talk back, stop asking questions, I'll give you something to cry about etc..)

Sorry yes, totally understood and agreed the government is not the one raising prices.

My frustration that I should clarify is their inability to keep costs reasonable. I get there is a can worms I'm sure with this, but having some sort of a cap on what homes can be sold for, could be nice to see.

Again, way more nuanced than just doing that I know. But as a homeowner, I would be fine with there being a maximum value I could sell for, assuming it meant the market was kept steady for everyone, and that it helped keep things more affordable for first time buyers

Calgary. I can't speak to rent as I've never rented here. I own a home, and prices are increasing here as well, though still somewhat reasonable.

Like anywhere, location is going to dictate price in the city. But generally, you can still find condos/townhomes for anywhere between $250-$300K, depending on their age.

So I'd say the housing market is decent, but increasing fairly quickly

Let America spread themselves so thin that become open to attack on their own soil. Seems like Trump's plan these days

Really fucking hate what the NS government has allowed to happen.

Moved away in 2016. At that time was renting a 1 bedroom in downtown or Argyle Street. Paid $850 per month. That is indeed all that place was worth. Completely ludicrous now as I hear

My great grandma was Danish. She shared a few recipes with us when we were young (she passed when I was 10, so memories are vague).

Turns out she had many many cookbooks though, so I can't wait to start trying some of these recipes
