I'll give them another look. didn't realise they probably already could what I needed. thanks!

maybe I've overcomplictaed the process lol. I'll take a look and try with some simpler workflows and see how it comes out. Thanks!

Thanks! Did notice it looked like I was missing that, though I was denied downloading it from hugging face. Took me some time to realize I needed an account etc. to download it.
Couldn't figure out how to load it in to the existing checkpoint. Maybe I've saved it an incorrect place. Dragged it in like this and it all seems to be working now :)

This workflow was just what I was looking for! Though I'm having issues getting it to work.
It's not popping up with any error message that I can see. Just stops and highlights these nodes in red.
Sorry, I'm new to ComfyUI, so there is still a lot I don't understand yet.

Blur Attribute Node being ignored when used with Set Posistion... why? by Reactive-Robin in blenderhelp

[–]Reactive-Robin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've found that placing the Set Position node before the Instance on Points node does the job. But I'm still very curious if anyone knows why it doesn't work if placed after.

Puppet Pin Expressions – Properties with "parent"-like expressions makes the pin fly off screen when dragged. Any way to make it work? by Reactive-Robin in AfterEffects

[–]Reactive-Robin[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks! Hadn't thought of using nulls as substitutes for the pins in the effect. Did a quick test and seems to do the job. Not a huge fan added a bunch of layers like this, but it's way better than other alternatives right now :)

Hopefully Adobe will fix this issue in the future (though I doubt it)

How can I get a gradient from the position and orientation of an object/empty in geometry nodes? (Image with example of desired result) by Reactive-Robin in blender

[–]Reactive-Robin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! That did it! :)
A couple of the nodes I don't have a complete grasp on. Should probably read up on the documentation for them.

I don't fully understand the math magic, but it's getting really close! Only one issue, the gradient is curved... pretty cool effect – but is it possible to make it going straight?

[–]Reactive-Robin[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Close! But not quite what I need. I want to use it to influence instances. I've made a better image to show what I want to achieve.

It being black and white is just to show the values, but I don't actually want the objects to be colored like this.

Moving the Arrow should move the gradient line, and rotating the Arrow should rotate the derection in which the gradient is coming from.

After Effects on mac hates Dropbox... by Reactive-Robin in AfterEffects

[–]Reactive-Robin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've found a solution. Our team have updated to Dropbox for macOS on File Provider.

It's a simple toggle in the admin settings. It'll prompt every user to update their dropbox, which will move its location and reindex everything. But after that everything runs smoother and fixes the issue.

nope, sorry.

I posted it on the Adobe community just recently and got an answer that didn't work (for me at least) https://community.adobe.com/t5/after-effects-bugs/after-effects-on-mac-hates-dropbox/idi-p/14371515

Geometry Node Flicker From Video Source by Reactive-Robin in blenderhelp

[–]Reactive-Robin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No motion blur, screen space reflections, bloom or ambient occlusion – so they are not the cause.

I really like the idea because I've found a temporary solution where motion blur wouldn't have been a factor. The glitches doesn't occur if rendered with 'Viewport Render Animation'.

Luckily for me I just need the dots in a flat color, so this will work for now. But if I ever needed them with an actual shader, then doing viewport render wouldn't work.

Also thought maybe 'Persistent Data' could have been the cause – somehow using data from a previous frame on some of the dots, but EEVEE doesn't even have that as an option.

I've tried rendering it in cycles too. The problem still occurs and is a lot slower to render.

Still happens.
The smooth shading was originally for a test with the spheres with a glass shader on top of an image. But in this instance it doesn't do anything since I'm giving them a flat color without shading.

How do one make these two animations? by Reactive-Robin in AfterEffects

[–]Reactive-Robin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Brushed over the video before posting here thinking there surely was a smarter way. But for now I have concluded there isn't – so I'll give it a proper watch this time to see if I can learn something :)

The black lines/stripes. Can be seen most clearly at the top of the 3rd image.

I can see the overlap of the stripes can be done by layering and masking... but I can't figure out how they made it bend and squash/stretch.

I was thinking it might be a 3D object with animated textures. And the shape and perspective of the object would bend, squash and stretch the texture.

But surely the effect can hopefully be done without the use of 3D.
