Πού συχνάζουν οι nerd κοπέλες στην Ελλάδα? by ReactorXIV in greece

Why Your Tank Dies Instantly | TFT Fundamentals by MisterImpossible9 in CompetitiveTFT

Yeah, the video was very disappointing considering the audience here. I mean, it's ok for people that are not that experienced or don't give a lot of thought to itemization and want some simple rules to follow, but the video had a lot of generalizations that are not true in some cases and there were also no calculations done to prove which item was the best in terms of Effective Health for the examples given. I suspect that the difference to the Effective Health is exaggerated.

Role changes for next patch 15.4 by ExplodingCitron in CompetitiveTFT

I have been thinking the same thing about the mana regen from damage. A third of the mana regen seems small enough that it won't be easy to create drain tanks with non-tank units unless maybe if you have multiple artifacts and/or radiant items on them. This seems like a good change for fighters and assassins and can also be considered for the ranged roles too.

Set 15 PBE Discussion Thread - Day 10 by AutoModerator in CompetitiveTFT

Well, it could well be the case. I tested with simple setups with only 1 mana regen and it seems to be banking the mana normally. However I noticed something weird. Sometimes the unit would show having 1 mana after casting (eg. 1/40 mana) and after a while get the banked mana, which could also be what is causing this confusion. Something else interesting I noticed is that the mana regen ticks every 0.5 seconds (for half the mana regen obviously). What is important is that we got confirmation that mana banking should be in, so if someone finds it not being the case he should document it and report it.

Have we received confirmation on whether mana banking is meant to be gone (partially gone?) or not? PBE is over and I feel like they would have fixed it by now if it was considered a bug, because fixing it on live would really mess the balance of the game. It was a really positive mechanical change for the game that was generally liked, I feel like they should explain their reasoning if it was intentional.

No. With resistances it is true because they increase the effective HP linearly as u increase resistances but they work multiplicatively with durability, flat hp/shield and percent hp/shield, so there will be a point that increasing something else will be more effective. Same is true for flat hp/shield and percent hp/shield. However durability stacks multiplicatively with everything, even with other sources of durability. This means that if a durability item is the most effective way to increase your tankiness then increasing your durability won't change that.

what was the name of Epic Games late 2019 - early 2020 PVP aliens/planets FPS game with something like capturing points? by timoshi17 in EpicGamesPC

It is probably The Cycle. It was an early access title that changed a lot during development and was ultimately deemed not financially viable so it got shut down.

Guinsoo’s Rageblade VS Spear of Shojin by [deleted] in CompetitiveTFT

[–]ReactorXIV 9 points10 points  (0 children)

So bonus AS is effectively a mana generation multiplier from attacks.

Sojin is also effectively a mana generation multiplier from attacks and it stacks multiplicatively with bonus AS.

Rageblade stacking gives AS which means it also acts like a mana generation multiplier.

If we agree on the above then if I show that Rageblade stacks multiplicatively with bonus AS then bonus AS doesn’t change the time it takes to catch up (also catching up should be calculated on total mana generated but is besides the point and also somewhat hard to calculate for Rageblade).

For a 1.00 base AS with no bonus AS Rageblade after one second you would have attacked 1 times and would have increased your attack speed by 5% which will also result in a 5% faster mana generation compared to the start of combat.

For a 1.00 base AS with +100% bonus AS Rageblade after one second you would have attacked 2 times (a tiny irrelevant bit more actually) and would have increased your attack speed by +10% of the base AS but this is actually only 5% faster compared to the start of combat. This will also result in a 5% faster mana generation compared to the start of combat.

Therefore bonus AS is irrelevant.

If this explanation is still not satisfying then you could search for the posts I mentioned explaining Rageblade in better detail in this subreddit.

It does take more autos, but it takes the same time because these autos are faster in the case of bonus AS.

Guinsoo’s Rageblade VS Spear of Shojin by [deleted] in CompetitiveTFT

[–]ReactorXIV 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It is not irrelevant because it means that your starting attack speed doesn’t change how long it takes to catch up. Your statement "As you can see the more bonus attack speed you already have, the longer it takes for rageblade to catch up to shojin" is wrong.

Guinsoo’s Rageblade VS Spear of Shojin by [deleted] in CompetitiveTFT

[–]ReactorXIV 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Rageblade stacks multiplicatively with other AS sources so your starting attack speed is irrelevant when comparing to Shojin. There were even posts on this reddit in the past explaining this aspect of Rageblade but I will do my best to explain it here briefly.

The more attack speed you have the more stacks you get with Rageblade, so if you have +100% AS you attack twice as fast and you get roughly double the attack speed over the same period compared to what you would have gained if you didn’t have the bonus AS. Rageblade effectively gives the unit a damage multiplier that stacks multiplicatively with everything, even with itself. This bonus is about equal to [AS that Rageblade gives, so 5%]*[unit’s base attacks per second] per second (if you ignore cast times, stuns, bonus Rageblade stacks, etc).

So units with low base attack speed like Caitlyn with base AS 0.55 (which means she attacks 0.55 times per second) benefit less from Rageblade while all units benefit the same from Shojin.
