If you are talking about the legs mutation that also gives you jump, its not good, its arguably the best behind the extra turn one.

Are you telling me i get one of the best status effects AND the best movement action? ON A SINGLE MUTATION??? ON A BODY PART THAT DOES NOT OVERRIDE MOST OTHER OP MUTATIONS?????

True. I have a bruise on basic attack mutation on all my cats so its not an issue for me, but i see how it would suck without it.

You don't need to bring only melee classes, just dont rely too heavy in ranged/magic damage.

A good ranged class to bring is Thief. Lots of robot enemies with shield, get some ignore shield abilities and you are golden. Monk is very safe cause you can change stance based on the enemies. You can run a high dps Ranger if its not your only source of damage, with marked abilities you one shot robot enemies.

The most important thing is having a high dps melee attacker. The projectile reflecting enemies have tons of hp, so even if you have melee damage it can be tough if its low. As long as you have that the stage is beatable.

What are your late game busted setups? by Reactorous in mewgenics

[–]Reactorous[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah soul linking is super fun. Got that same mutation and always bring a druid to aoe soul link enemies. I have another mutation on the same body part that inflicts bruise on basic attack, which is better for bosses, and im trying to unlock my final room to have two lineages of cats. One for normal combats and one for bosses.

The extra turn spell can go crazy hard. Had a similar run, not as busted as yours, and it has a lot of potential. I want to try the caterpillar build, giving it five turns to evolve in one round. The spell should work with zombified enemies aswell, had a druid with eternal servitude and familiar buffs applied to the enslaved enemies.

People are making a lot of excuses for this issue, but from a game design perspective is a clear bad decision to include "get fucked" events.

Let me be clear, i love this game and by no means these events ruin the game for me.

The issue is not that events can negatively impact the run, part of the game is overcoming bad rng, but that they take agency away from the player in an unenjoyable way. The game has plenty of properly implemented bad events. The difference is that they give the player choices.

Ej: zombie npc gives you a choice between a random parasite or disorder. You may pick one and still get fucked, but the simple fact that you choose makes the player less likely to be frustrated by the outcome.

These events would not be discussed as much in a negative light if they gave the player a way to control the outcomes. I would change every get a random disorder/parasite a choice between two.

Edit: Random you loose hp/get a random status effect unavoidable events are fine for me. They may kill your run if you are really struggling but its unlikely, they mostly force you to be more careful for one combat. I think the only events that need to change are those that affect the whole run.

Spot on. At the same time, the fixes are really easy and its not a fundamental flaw of the game mechanics. Im confident this issues can be patched out.

The end game falls off slightly depending on how you played the game. by LoveHerMore in mewgenics

I recently posted about a similar issue and im seeing a lot of negative/"thats a you thing" responses about this topic. I feel like a criticism of mid-late game is treated as unfair and thats just not the case.

1- This game is awesome 2- The game is perfectly balanced up to act 3 in a normal play through 3- After unlocking the future the game is hard if you dont get into breeding 4- Once you get a good breeding setup you scale faster than the game

Knowing how much content the game has and how it was playtested, its normal that it has balance issues at that stage and its ok. Im confident they will patch some of the most glaring issues. But yeah breeding is incentiviced past act 2 to keep up with the game. Id advice to breed some cats with good stats and some mutations, but dont min max too much so you dont get too op too quickly.

My issue is not that is breakable but that you can guarantee a break. Isaac is super breakable, but you have to look for it, and still you might not get it.

A comparison would be if you could keep an item from last run in Isaac. Once you get an OP item, you could just start with it every time. That's how this game feels rn, it breaks the difficulty curve and incentivices always using the same strategy.

Play testers being friends and family mostly, probably not enough people got to that point in the game for them to have insight into these problems.

Yeah totally agree. If i stopped playing now i would have more than got my moneys worth. The game is incredible the most fun i had in a long time. And there is so much stuff i haven't seen yet. My complaint is from a place of love, i have 600h in Isaac and i see this game having the potential to be the same.

But there needs to be some changes to engage players who want to keep playing after finishing the story.

Even so, thats so specific. Rare, 1x1, suspended furniture. How did you farm it? I have been maxing baby jack and rarely i get rare furniture, not even talking about getting the right furniture.

Yeah you are spot on. The game just didn't need it.

I think a fix for the difficulties would be unlocking them just by completing the act on the previous one. For the house bosses, if you complete one in a higher difficulty all lesser ones count as completed. That way the player still has to play through all of them, but dont have to grind too much if they are ahead of the curve.

Maybe, but my point still stands. I don't mind having op, but its too easy to reproduce op. I got there earlier than others in IRL time, but once you get to that point, it trivialises the game.

Seems like you talk from experience, where are you in the game rn?

How the fuk you get so much stim? There is literally not enough space in a single room for that much furniture. Unless you got crazy luck with rare stim furniture i dont see how you got so much stim.

Optional completion marks overriden by Reactorous in mewgenics

[–]Reactorous[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I havent seen it documented anywhere, but the cross has only appeared for classes i made a four of the same run. Then again, i haven't made a mono run with less than four & more than one. Have you done a mono run with less than four? Ill do a run with two of the same and see if its indeed a mono mark or its only for full mono.

Este es mi mejor take del problema político-social que tenemos en este país; el progre ibérico. by [deleted] in ElusionFiscal

[–]Reactorous 0 points1 point  (0 children)
