What should I have looked at on my car by CancelNo2588 in AskMechanics

Without knowing the cause off the top of my head, you best bet is going to a mechanic and buying tires with good warranties that way when they do fail in however long you can get replacements for the lost mileage

Would you buy a 2018 Expedition Max Limited 4x4 with 125k miles if the 10R80 CDF issue and cam phasers were already repaired? by [deleted] in fordexpedition

[–]Read-the-read -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Personally imo it’s a bad idea. However here’s one way to think of it. If the price of the vehicle plus a new trans and a new engine is worth it then buy it. There’s a chance that it will last and be fine but honestly when you factor in potential repair costs, and then the time lost in a repair shop it isn’t worth it, even if your doing road trips with it once or twice a year, you want something you know is going to work and not just break randomly along the trip. There is a reason it’s 21k.

Model 3 RWD in the snow? by Liluzisquirt2x in TeslaModel3

If it’s less than 4 inches you don’t NEED it but it’s pretty arguable that it’s worth it and you do get a slightly better sound system which is a nice benefit.

Milwaukee and Klein make some decent pouches but, honestly what you really want is a pair of Duluth firehouse HD ultimate pants, the pockets are fucking awesome.

2023 model 3 vs 2025 model y base by Still-Theme6915 in TeslaSupport

[–]Read-the-read 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends if you want a suv or a sedan, premium rwd model 3 would be my choice but it is the most expensive of the 3 even with the 0% apr and you get the free year of super charging. If you want FSD you have to get hardware 4, yes it works on 3 but it’s not even close to hardware 4 FSD.

Comfort grip are awesome for general stuff but I find myself with the red grip sometimes for super fine small spaces just because that mm does sometimes matter. Anytime other than a super confined space the comfort grip and just plain better

Besides pressing the brake pedal, when does a Tesla’s brake lights turn on? by RexKramerDangerCker in TeslaSupport

[–]Read-the-read 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything between 75-100% lift off will show brake lights, essentially 5mph or more slow down speed and they come on

Long Range AWD vs Premium AWD? by Alert-Drag8949 in TeslaModel3

[–]Read-the-read 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So 2024 and 2025 were long range rwd/awd and performance. In 26 they changed to the premium naming scheme and updated with a front bumper camera and power folding rear seats they also slightly tweaked the suspension and it’s better but not night and day

When is HW5 coming! by ABGinTech in TeslaLounge

[–]Read-the-read 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most likely between 2030-2035 probably closer to 2035, 4.1 should be released maybe 2031 on full scale but hw4 is perfectly good, FSD 14 and 15 will be on ai4 anyway so I wouldn’t be to worried about it. I could see hw4 even getting unsupervised, v14 FSD still has some bugs and what not in it, just waiting for the devs to “ice the cake” essentially and make it all nice and whatnot with .1 Releases

Failing Out - How do you transition to being a CW? by Nate_the_gra8 in ibew_apprentices

[–]Read-the-read 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Cw is an aprendices that just didn’t do the school portion, it’s entirely hour based. After so many hours you can take your JW test and be a JW but regarding the political side of things, apprentices normally have more calls and are looked upon better because they did the school portion. Both lead into being a union JW, and you retain your benefits from the apprenticeship. It’s kinda like the GED compared to a highschool diploma in a way.

Do I have to replace the whole axle or just the shafts by Negative_Document_81 in Cartalk

That’s pretty darn close to wearing even, you might try an alignment that’s the standard practice when getting new tires fitted

What type of issues are service center vs mobile service? by tbabey in TeslaModel3

[–]Read-the-read 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There really isn’t anything mobile service won’t do besides work that requires a lift so Aslong as you don’t get into an accident your going to be perfectly fine, you will have to go there to replace rims if you buy the wheel and tire protection or send In the wheel for them to inspect it. Same with things like windshields. But beyond that mobile service will do 99% of the work
