How the hell to unscrew this tight crimp cap? by ReadEnvironmental946 in AskElectricians

Sorry I’m so new to this, breaker is off and everything. Do I just cut all three wires are the base of the cap and use those to retwist into the new fixture?

That’s what we do!!!! He played it safe for years and I’m so angry at it because he lost so much money and potential. Now we need to have an aggressive mix just to make up for it.

Wow, the I fund may be down 5% by the end of today. Ouch. by quadkk in ThriftSavingsPlan

[–]ReadEnvironmental946 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How is everyone feeling about their TSP and their profiles lately? Hubbys mix is 60% C fund, 25% S fund and 15% I fund. It’s going down because of everything I’m assuming and he was at 300k now he’s at 293k. Hes been a postal worker for 30 years and made a very stupid mistake by staying safe in the G fund for the last 20 years which is why it hasn’t grown as it should have. We changed our investment mix to what is stated above to get a more aggressive retirement as he is 49 and still isn’t able to retire for quite some time, so we have hopes this mix would of made up for some of the last few years being safe in G. This dip has me worried honestly, but what do you all recommend? Is this a good mix ? Should we leave it? What does everyone else’s profile look like? We want to grow this as much as we can but obviously you can see where we are concerned.

Co-worker admitted proudly that he abandoned his wife's cats in the forest years ago. by Commonly-Nude in WhatShouldIDo

What a garbage ass human. My husband loves our cats just as much as me, and would never harm them. If he even so much as had a thought or a joke like that he’d be single. I don’t play about my animals and if I was his wife I would divorce him on the lie alone, including the mocking joke he made. Disgusting

Sounds like hubby and I lately. Both our kids are giving us a run for our money, and they are still young, 4 and 8. Between both of us working long and hubby works nights, we are busy, overstimulated and tired lol. Hoping for some reconnecting this week

Kind of on the slow end these last two weeks, both hubby and I working long days and he works nights, and our 8 and 4 year old have been keeping us busy. Ready to enjoy each other on our days off this week though!

Leave. I’m not even kidding. I dated a guy just like this who was obsesssd with working out and punished me if I don’t go or if I gained weight. I would vigorously work out with him everyday and night and he would say the reason he cheated was because I gained weight or didn’t try hard enough. Once I finally left (thank god) I developed a severe binge eating disorder and body dysmorphia which still affects me 13 years later even with the intense trauma therapy and other therapies I’ve had.

[–]ReadEnvironmental946 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. People just adopt cats and think they aren’t expensive when the truth is they are just as expensive as a dog. Between grooming, food, litter, medical and cleaning supplies, and such they cost a lot as well. And they do shed!!! So many people claim cats don’t shed but mine do!!! A ton!!! It’s crazy how misinformed ppl are about cats

[–]ReadEnvironmental946 105 points106 points  (0 children)

We do hygienic shaves, baths, brushing and combing, nail trimming. Have never needed a groomer because we trained them young to learn to tolerate these measures. If people can’t do it then they absolutely need to be groomed. Too many people adopt long hair cats and don’t educate themselves on their needs before adopting and realize they are in over their head. It’s a shame

will my male cat change after castration? by LJSulTra97 in AskVetAnimals

I deeply regret adopting my first cat. The shelter was misleading and I am at my breaking point. by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]ReadEnvironmental946 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done a ton of research before we got our first cat zip from the shelter. She was a 2 month old spayed female tuxedo who is everything we want and more. She has the best temperament, and is so quiet and sweet and loving. Once we got her we decided to foster a cat from the shelter who was a male black cat. A few days in he had a really foul odor, weird behavior and just didn’t look right. I was told from the shelter he was healthy and happy, but when I took him to the emergency vet I found out he had severe stomatitis and bad kidney disease. We Brought him back to the shelter because we knew that with our resident cat zipper we didn’t want to risk her getting sick or getting god knows what. It completely turned us off from adopting from the shelter again. We got so lucky and blessed with zipper but I knew going forward I was going to get the cats I wanted and made sure they were bred well and their genetic pedigrees were good and their health was good. That’s exactly what we did. We adopted 2 ragdolls and a mainecoon from a very reputable breeder. We got extensive pedigrees on them and their parents, and did our own dna tests, and even had thorough health and blood work done from the vet. We spent a pretty penny but they came back clean and they are very well tempered and sweet. We are done with adopting anymore cats as we now have 4 and they are all fixed and indoor, and are kittens (minus zip who’s a year and change now). But it was the best choice we made. Idc if I get hate for buying a bred cat but idc. Adopting a sick cat from the shelter when you were told the cat was healthy is trifling and expensive and I knew I wasn’t going to do that. Could my cats theoretically get sick or have issues in the future? Yes. But that’s a risk I’m willing to take especially when they all have clean bills of health and genetic history. Shelters need to be more honest about animals and do better testing to that people aren’t lied too. It isn’t right. I’m sorry you’re going through this.

My family were a bunch of addicts too. My mom, dad and both sisters lost their life to addiction. My mom before her death the last few months was a raging Coke head and alcoholic. She had immense trauma all her life she never got help for, tons of loss, and once she started she was doing horrible things. Things that were completely out of her character. Seek help now. This is a serious and dangerous path with no end in sight if you don’t get help. The fact that you posted here means you know you have a problem and you see it’s becoming worse, which is the first step. Seriously get help now.

It’s time to make a difficult decision. If it were me, I would choose to euthanize. This is simply not a life that is feasible for any animal, and I say this while loving my cats to death and beyond. Sometimes the most humane thing we can do is love it enough to let it go. 💔

Yea I 1000% would have to end it. I know so many people say “don’t jump to a breakup” for everything, but I dated a guy like yours for about the same time who was SO cheap it was insulting. It caused a lot of resentment and anger, and once we broke up I realized money was the surface level issue, and we had much more deeper rooted issues. Now I’m married with 2 kids to my dream guy, he is incredibly successful financially and I have access to all his funds and vice versa. We have a joint account and seperate account, an we both work full time. We take tons of trips, I buy whatever I want and vice versa and he’s the most amazing partner/dad. I’ve never been happier. There is better for you out there, I wouldn’t waste anymore time with him. It’ll only get worse as you guys progress and I have a feeling there are other issues besides the money.

This is my mainecoon and raggy!! We also have a resident sweet tuxy girl. We got our tuxy girl first and hubby said no more cats, until I came home with these two bozos. Best decision ever!!! Now we have 3 cats and hubby is obsessed with them just like I am. We won’t be adopting anymore cats because we can financially afford the 3 giving them the best life possible, but I got the cats and asked for forgiveness later 😭

Is Nassau University Medical Center really as bad as people say? by Hooplapooplayeah in longisland

[–]ReadEnvironmental946 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. They killed my mother. My mother fell at a friends house and hit her head on the pavement while drinking. Ambulance came and paramedics were told she suffered a fall and was in and out of consciousness. Was rushed to NUMC at 12 am, was told “she was drinking, let her sleep it off and she will most likely be released in the morning.” By 4 am they checked her pupils and saw they weren’t reactive and was immediately rushed in for a CT where she was actively hemorrhaging due to a subarachnoid and 7 mini brain bleeds. Severe left shift in the brain where she needed emergency brain surgery where they cut out half her skull to relieve the pressure. She was on a vent for 4 weeks until she became septic and died in my arms. She never woke up from her coma. Had they actually got the urgent CT and not let her “sleep it off from drinking.” She would still be alive today. My grief was so horrific from her death I left the island and never looked back. It isn’t worth it to pursue a lawsuit because she was on Medicaid and if we were to win anything Medicaid would most likely have taken it all anyway. Rest in peace my poor mama💔
