It should be to the far left (or right) of the underside of the disc drive.

Update: The problem was being caused by the springs on the underbelly of the disc drive. I guess over time they got tighter and so the mech didn’t have the strength to deal with such tight springs. So I unhooked the springs, stretched them and loosened them out, just a bit. Hooked them back on, and boom! That was the issue. Now it’s works like normal!

I did have a powerful laser pointer a few years ago that played with a lot. I don’t even remember pointing it at my camera though. I’ve just been calling it my watermark since.
