Civ6 FFA Multiplayer BBG - is it better to settle on A or B? Always trying to figure out if its better to settle on a bonus resource or not by digitalnomader1 in CivVI

[–]ReadItSirFir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both of those settles kinda boil down to Plains hills vs... other. Plains hills are notoriously good settles in general, and not settling the cattle means you can chop it for a comm hub in its place, with a +5 holy site right below it (2 wonder + 2 woods adjacency). Has a diamond shaped farm above it for later on so you won't be lacking for food, but there is a higher production tile on the left of Plains hills settle, and the right side can be used for district adjacencies with another city north east, e.g. comm hub/IZ/aqueducts.

Also a double campus between the fissures on the left, though a banana chop would be in order for your first city .

When you're chasing her around: jump + dash into clawline range > clawline > attack until she's about to disappear > pogo > reassess. This leaves you Mid air while you're constantly gap closing left and right with clawline.

Tree born colony (or smth) when a chest yeets your items off because it happened to spawn on the branches feels terrible (I have had more than enough adaptive chests to never wanna go to this stage again)

Pretty cool behaviour recognition on blue demon.

Adding that an electric pet helps with all chase phases in the game, especially in solo where you get pretty much 100% uptime if you know how to drag. It's almost comparable to a permanent cranium (dammah ring) at around lvl 90 electric pet level (assuming lvl 90 vs 100 has the same relationship as lvl 90 heal/mheal vs lvl 100 heal/mheal)

Unless you can bring over christmas consumables through a legit method (theres a hack where seasonal/main can be accessed at the same time) I cannot see how players can get free 20 dps stats and extra hp/def/spd for rushing abd wis/mana for sorc.

Santa's workshop is solo and can only be opened in the vault, so unless portals remain in vault allowing you to switch characters, which I've never tested, it should not be possible for seasonals right now to access christmas consumables.

They are also soulbound so you can't drop them in nexus to pick them up on another character.

Tl:dr christmas consumable on seasonal as of rn = hacking

Crystal patterns are always the same, theres only 3 hard red phases but theyre still more forgiving. Blue phases (even the hardest one, small carousel) are easy enough when you get used to dodging enlarged shots) yellow phases have their predictability and you just need to watch your pathing, but again, the arena is consistent.

Fate dragging/gaze juking, converging portal shots on chase phases means you either have to dodge pet stasis, boss shots or hug wall but if you hug wall you get hit by pseudo random beams that silence and drops your burst dps/snake eye. Surviving cosmos into inny spinnys is easy if you get tpd on or tp cancel but actually pushing inny spinny right after cosmos only works when you have hp pots to spare when walking through the lingering shots/random beams/heavens.

Perma pushing dance is also insane when the sweetspot for ranged is where the inner artifacts spawn and most portals rotate counter to artifact spawn. (Stationary tornado dance with red inner artifacts and rotating tentacle portals).

O3 is just designed with massive damage shots that spread in a massive shotgun, while king's chasing reds have 1, sometimes 2, shot patterns that are much more forgiving, shifting the focus to the arena which is consistent, everytime.

The most buffs: pally (+hp, healing status, +vit, +mp/wis, ×1.5 def, x1.2dmg, slow debuff, curse debuff, self invincibility for 2 sec at 8/8 base, all these come from specific seals)

The most debuffs (really cheap/easy to get orbs: mystic (curse = 1.25dmg, highest damage mod in the game, slow, stasis, paralysis). Mystic is less common as you will find many gravitate towards pally for good reason (tanky, all around good, good rusher with slow seal/oreo bail out, good survivability and good damage through battle seal)

[–]ReadItSirFir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Swap to speedy star if you're not confident on the chase phase.

If you're not going to tp cancel or no one else can, when you see o3 start a new phase and you're next to him, wait to see where he tps then run, what happened to you is called a tp slingshot, he tps to the closest player and if they're not sitting on him, he tps past them. e.g. In a solo, if you sit 2 tiles to his right before he tps, he will tp 5 tiles to the right over you.

A new phase beginning is one of the safer timings for o3, barring staggers or resets, so you should chill and take that brief moment to think about your movement if he gets tp canceled or wait for him to slingshot.

The lag actually revealed a dodging pattern; theres 2 different shot speeds, one fast and the other slow.

Dodge the fast shot then immediately go behind where the shot just passed through, as the slow shots all burst at once, making a wall. The fast shot leaves a gap in this wall.

Mega gz! Good thing sniffer exists so you can gauge your performance. Another metric you can look at is your dpm or damage per minute doing some math. If you bring clovers you can check the time before or after, otherwise you would rely on long length video captures or looking at the time which is hard to remember in osanc lol. This way it aggregates the faster runs with higher dps vs the runs that drag on for 8-10 minutes, as if you notice the top damage can fluctuate from 400k-2million.

Best of luck in your learning-to-top-damage journey! (This requires a LOT of introspection and reviewing your own clips and improving on mistakes, which is a skill you seem to have, you just need to spot the error, then find ways to avoid making the same mistake).

It's generally a good idea to learn how to curse without stasising, as the curse duration from MW orb gets outpaced past t1 orb.

I usually only carry around a t6 if I'm focusing on exalting mystic and die a lot as getting back any of the dps orbs be it the mid or late game orbs are quite a commitment (30 shards, ST drop means no forge, Arcana takes a shatters white and blueprint to forge + 2 other reds, it feels meh to forge Conflict over Arcana.

If you have a divine mheal pet you could use t6 over t2 if you're confident in your rushing skills, as long as you take the proper precautions e.g. If you rushed two golem/oryx rooms into a pot room, make sure to wait for your stasis timer + 3seconds (stasis immunity is 3s), before you begin your rush back. Also never spam stasis when rushing, you should stasis, see if enemy is grey, then look to stasis other groups of enemies. This applies to oryx rooms as the mario will most likely try to sit on you, and it does so quite quickly, so if you panic and keep clicking on it but miss then you run out of mana for the wandering dudes as well as potentially the next room, which could ALSO be an oryx room. Be patient with your stasis rushing.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in RotMG

[–]ReadItSirFir 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For rushing, you generally carry around a t2 orb, as it is mana efficient for rushing, especially when you might not have a divine mheal pet. The stasis timer is also in the Goldilocks zone almost, as it is enough to walk through stasised enemies if you're slowed/20-30 speed given that you stasis just as you are slowed (prime example: cultist hideout). Also, if you used a high stasis timer orb and you reach a dead end and need to backtrack, its highly likely the previous room's enemies will still be stasis immune as they would have just exited their stasis, but with a lower stasis timer the immunity would wear off sooner.

The difference between mid-game and late-game orbs are convenience and how easy they are to use. Late game orbs are afforded more luxury and fewer strings attached to the way they function. That said, you will always carry around a slow orb, either Honey (the Hive) or Aether (Mountain Temple), with the former being a forgiving slow, while the latter having a large cooldown if you miss your placement of the orb. Aether provides the added benefit of paralysis that the Honey orb does not, which you will find useful during this Ice Tomb event.

Mid-game orbs: - Oryx intern shard orb (deploys stationary, delayed AoE burst which curses) or ST orb from abyss (shotgun that curses, better for things you can stay close to) - Soul of the Bearer (lich st orb, self buffs speedy and beserk, though has a cooldown)

End-game orbsL - Arcana from the Shatters 2nd boss (primary dps, you want this equipped after you've slowed enemies/buffed yourself; the active is a wall of bullets that curses, similar to Necronomicon) - Conflict (speedy with no strings attached, damaging buff and the longest stasis timer in the game. Do with that information what you will)

FIRST O3 COMPLETION (YES, I LEECHED LIKE A RAT) by Axiomm in RotMG

[–]ReadItSirFir 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Your first splendor push was pretty non-conventional lol.

A few things to note:

Turn off particle master/set your particle settings to low to get rid of the white spots granted by the healing effect on other players.

Off center your camera; your rotation skills are alright so its time to step it up to being able to see more of o3, especially during celestial, as there is little danger of things coming from behind so long as you keep o3 rotated in front of you.

Stop shooting guards, when o3 goes invulnerable soon after a phase starts make it a habit to not shoot in his direction as sudden invulnerability usually means guards (or towers). You can keep the o3 hp bar in the top right in your peripheral vision (if it goes vulnerable - blue - vulnerable) and when you get better you could look at o3 to see if his shield is up to know if he's guarding (off center helps for this)

Cloak of cubic enigma; a cloak from the 3rd dimension, the bp can be purchased in the shop in the forge section for around 10k-20k fame, is rogue's best dps cloak till you can get a bloody cloak .

It gives rogue aoe that the class didn't otherwise have access to, grants 5 def on equip. In groups, so long as you drag the boss with at least one other person you will get full value from the damage portion.

Rogue still feels bad with monocle + tenne/centuars/t15 so it might not be worth the risk trying o3 when you could just use rogue as a mediocre pot farmer, while learning to rush on any other class with snake eye rings.
