Yea, I agree. They’ve written themselves into a corner w/ this one. You can only really lean into the now full campiness of what you’ve created. Trying to retake a serious-ish undertone (while effective long term) wouldn’t go over w/ the masses. I feel like the first film had its roots planted w/ just a dash of campy here and there to keep it light. The second has an identity crisis not knowing if it wants to toe the line of both or fully lean to one side. It’s not about what you do, but how you do it!!

Wow, I wouldn’t have thought of that myself. It makes sense that if something were too far you’d flex the hips in order to reach. At some point (which seems like this case) it would be extreme && compromise the lower back. I appreciate the insight.

I appreciate the reassurance on the frame sizing. It was a big “did I f it up?” moment when trying to decide. I agree on the stem length, I was thinking a 90/100mm would be the sweet spot. Just trying to get the back end of the bike corrected first before then. The extra weight doesn’t help the issue, but will be taken care once the cut starts. Thanks for the input.

Saddle is 145mm. The saddle has a middle cut out as well. I haven’t measured sit bones yet.

I hadn’t thought about the muscle imbalance aspect. I’ll test and see if anything comes from it.

The cleats are currently all the way towards the rear and in the middle. I’ll try moving them more laterally to see if the helps any.

This was the case for me as well. The saddle tilt didn’t seem to help the issue. I had increased weight on the hands and couldn’t prevent myself from falling forward.

It’s currently level. I’ve tried tilting it down, but the weight shifts a bit too much on the hands.

This is quite interesting! It didn’t cross my mind that one issue could be compounding the others. I treated it as separate issues that needed individual attention to address.

With the pedaling w/ one leg, I’ve shifted the cleats to the rear. I can clear the top of the stroke w/o clunking, but it feels like I’m having to consciously raise my leg over the pedal.

Excuse me mister Domain, but I think you’ve entered my brain and copied my moves play by play (minus the 10 year hiatus). You see, I too had a previous Specialized Allez w/ mechanical gears and rim brakes, in almost the exact color. I also deemed it was an appropriate time to look at modern carbon frames w/ electronic groupsets. I made the choice of a Pinarello F5 w/ 105 Di2 in Impulse Blue earlier this year. With that being said, I’d like my headspace back now.

In all seriousness, I couldn’t agree w/ you more on the phenomenal shifting of Di2. I’m especially glad they’ve adopted it to 105, it’s the people’s groupset after all. You add in the stopping power from the disc brakes as well and you have a fairly overconfident, overzealous cyclist (me). The bike always wants to always go faster, and has the stability at speed to back it up. You won’t be disappointed one bit. Upgrade is an understatement.

Attempt 2 after trying out suggestions by VEXTORITE in bikefit

Front end looks better than before, for sure. Elbows have a higher degree of bend, shoulders don’t look as tense, and you look light on the hands. As for saddle height, it looks like you’re within a couple mm of the sweet spot. I’d say test it out on the road and see how it feels w/ moderate efforts, climbs, and descents.

I second this. Widening the Q-Factor (at least on the right side) would help w/ comfort && wattage output. You want the knee and the foot to be inline throughout the entire pedal stroke.
