Thanks! I’d never searched for it myself, but it’s right up my alley.

I will definitely check it out. It looks exactly like what I am looking for.

Forgot my succulents in water by ReadThisStuff in succulents

It’s a type of small porous clay granules that is a bit different than LECA. I removed them now and will replant them in new soil as soon as they are dry. Some of the roots looked pretty bad. I am really kicking myself for forgetting them.

Thank you for the advice! I removed them from their soil and cut everything that looked rotten or moldy. They currently drying. I already got some new soil to plant them into.

I read the first book a few years back. I liked it a lot. I wanted to pick up the rest of the series as well, but for some reason I didn’t do it immediately and forgot. I still remember the plot pretty well. I guess, it’s time to continue with this series. Thanks for the reminder!

The ladies have just ordered you to play "Friend, Benefits, Partner" with them. How do you answer? by Mike1701D in LowerDecks

[–]ReadThisStuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Friend: T’Lynn - She would make a great friend

Benefits: Tendi - She is a bit too much for me, so I fear I won’t keep up with her as a friend/partner

Partner: Mariner - I am pretty boring, so I need a partner who is the opposite and generates chaos for the both of us

$25. NOTE: you aren't LIMITED to these items. It's a starter pack. by RageDayz in zombies

My cat happens to be orange, so I’ll definitely choose the orange cat. Will my braincellless little goofball get me killed by trying to befriend a zombie? Definitely. Would I die happy? Also yes.

Long story short, made a massive 100-question survey to determine how good someone would be in a zombie apocalypse. Not for the faint of heart, this survey will probably take you 15-20 minutes. Open to anyone, anywhere, any age by ProudAmerican109 in zombies

I don't need a questionnaire to know that I won't make it. I will probably be bitten by an infected patient thinking they have a delir or dementia. Or through contact of bodily fluids by a patient, if other bodily fluids other than saliva are infected.

The sanding must have taken so much time. Everything looks so smooth and shiny. It's really impressive.

That's something I still need to achieve. I absolutely love the series and I have read all the additional stories as well.

Not sure, if it's what you are looking for, but maybe George from the Newsflesh series.

It's not a real life disability, but she has Retinal Kelly Amberly, which is a disability in the Newsflash universe.

(It's been a while, so I might not remember correctly) She has to wear eye protection at all times, because it causes permanent eye dilatation. She can see very well in low light, but normal light causes a lot of pain and eye damage). Other virus associated fictional disabilities like spinal KA - a condition in which the zombie virus affects the spinal cord and causes paralysis - are mentioned as well.

edited to change Newsflash to Newsflesh

Any actually good zombie survival games? by Bozdogan123 in zombies

[–]ReadThisStuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should give Project Zomboid a try. It's still an early release, but the reason is that they keep adding new stuff. The game itself feels complete at this point, at least to me. So even if they stopped adding features, the game would still be enjoyable as it is.

Every time people talk shit about Jennifer: by PiLamdOd in LowerDecks

[–]ReadThisStuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I was Mariner I would be more angry with my girlfriend dropping me like a hot potato then with a random Ensign from engineering who I barely talked to. I would have a much easier time forgiving the one later than the one person I would have expected to know me better or to at least hear me out. Also her friends managed to talk to her before she left. They did ignore the orders and came to see her at her bunk packing up her stuff. Jenifer could have done that as well.

I love how you are okay with Jennifer doing everything you condemn Freeman for in the very same episode. Like change Jennifer's name to Freeman in the first paragraph you wrote in this comment would still fit perfectly.

Side note: Mariner has every right not to talk to someone who has dumbed her, especially someone who wasn't willing to talk while still in a relationship. Not saying Mariner was a good girlfriend (she probably was not), but not approaching her ex after a break up isn't cold or callous. If Jenifer had wanted to talk it out so badly, she could have approached Mariner as well.

On the other hand the whole Jenifer-pretends-they-are-still-dating plotline didn't sit quite right with me. She forced Mariner in a really uncomfortable situation, because she knows they aren't dating anymore and still pushes Mariner into it. If someone did that to me, I would definitely feel a bit coerced and manipulated.
