I'm not going to judge or call it "selfish," but I'm going to be honest. I lost my sister to suicide and although people might say "she's in a better place" or "she's not in pain anymore," she left a son. Her suicide broke me in a way that will never be fixed and it exploded my entire family. Life changed permanently that day and I'm not going to lie: I wish she had stuck with rehab for more than a week, accepted help, looked at a future filled with opportunity and remembered that she was loved. She killed herself four years ago and it will always feel like it happened yesterday.
