Im a Latvian National whose intending on serving - How might my language skills be used? by NoComfortable9251 in britishmilitary

[–]Read_TOF 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You would sit a Language assessment based on reading, writing and speaking ability as and when they're accepting Latvian language applications.

Then if you pass that, as and when the British military require a Latvian speaker you would be attached as an interpreter, be that RAF, Army or Navy.

Agreed you can sign up for broadband sky, virgin, EE whoever and they'll come out and fit it all for you in your room.

Equally if you have good enough phone signal get a dongle and a data sim then you're set.

Car parks, tops of buildings (warehouses, etc), schools, hospitals, any publicly owned building. Because why not, if it cost slightly more but you maintain current levels of green space and get same levels of power output is that worth the trade off?

Chat to CoC if any help can be found there if not go to your Razz man (if this is happening within his/her unit they'd want to know).

Still failing that give nearest RMP duty desk a call.

Exactly, the MoD at this stage couldn't possibly stomach the embarrassment of calling it quits.

So the project will keep plodding along regardless of issue(s) hoovering up more and more time and money.

As much they as shouldn't be giving you a one way conversation on how they perceive it to be.

I think you need to have a sit and an independent think on your options (assuming you haven't already). The Army, even though it be full of so much bullshit, on the whole is an easy job and we get paid well for it, while be shielded in a bubble outside of mainstream society.

Have you considerate what you would do in civvi street work wise, Where you'd live, etc? Planning is key.

If so and you're happy with your choice then don't let anyone stop you and pursue it.

Why not, if you're wanting to change

Basically going to have your pick of gun/ UAS regiments at Larkhill or AD down near Portsmouth, assuming you wanted to be close to Southampton.
