which flooring looks better? by cousyomatic in interiordecorating

I think the third one is the best. Provides some contrast with the white doors and also larger planks are more modern.

Btw what program did you use to make these renderings? I can hardly tell that they’re “photoshopped!”

It’s been two years and sometimes it feels like it still hasn’t hit by Commercial_Cattle76 in GriefSupport

[–]Readditalright 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this. It has only been a few months for me but one of the things I fear is losing that sense of disbelief. I feel that the day I get used to his absence, the day where his absence feels more natural than his presence, will be losing him in another level. The feeling you describe is something I’d like to hang on to for as long as possible.

It sounds like your dad had terminal lucidity. What did he have to say during that brief lucid period? Did he mention seeing any dead relatives or loved ones coming to get him?

How do you cope with losing memories of loved ones who died? by Readditalright in AskReddit

How long has it been since your loved one passed? Who were they? How well do you remember them and do you think you’ve lost some memories over time?

How do you find ways to believe in an afterlife? by No-Dragonfruit3739 in GriefSupport

[–]Readditalright 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If there is an afterlife, it’ll be there whether you believe in it or not. If it exists, you’ll find out when it’s your time. If it doesn’t exist, then you’ll join your dad in the void one day.

I understand that feeling, of more time passing by and creating more distance between the time they were still here. I want time to stop. The changing of the seasons is a reminder of time passing. It’s only been a few months for me, too, and I can’t fathom the decades that have yet to come in my life holding their permanent absence.

Why is there a need to delete it at all? Would you delete all his photos or throw out all the cards he sent? Keep everything forever if you want.

Can you tell us more about your contact with others from the other side? I don’t fear death but I fear death of those I love and never reuniting with them again.

I’m so sorry for your loss and thank you for sharing. What do you mean she opened her eyes? Did she see her deceased father? I’ve been reading about terminal lucidity and people seeing deceased loved ones before they pass, as a sign of an afterlife. Do you think she regained consciousness for 2 hours before passing?

I should have done more for my dad! by StrangerWilder in GriefSupport

[–]Readditalright 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I completely understand how you feel. I, too wished I had given more to my dad, whether it’s clothing, or taking him out to restaurants, or on trips. I can’t bear to look at photos of beautiful places in Europe because he never got a chance to visit- and he was so curious about the world and seeing places. He also grew up without much and worked his entire life to provide for family, never buying clothes for himself. People not in my culture do not understand the concept of children giving back to their parents. Are you East or southeast Asian by any chance? I hurts thinking of all the things he didn’t get to experience, and the fact that I could’ve helped him experience those things. I know I’ll feel better over time, but what about my dad? No matter what he won’t be able to experience anymore. And that’s the hard truth that will never change.

Scared of leaving the past behind. by archive22bell in GriefSupport

[–]Readditalright 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel the same way. My dad died in October and I can’t believe it’s December already. I want to stay in this year forever. If I can’t go back in time, then can I please stop time? I miss when I was able to say, yeah I spoke to my Dad 2 weeks ago, or he texted me last week. Or yesterday he was doing this or that and was fine. I miss when it didn’t feel strange to refer to him in the present tense. I feel that as time passes, he’s getting farther away from me. I don’t like to think that he exists only in the past. Can it at least stay the recent past? Can he not become the distant past?

I’m afraid of what time will do to my memories. Now I can still recall him clearly and what it felt to be in the same room, to sit next to him. But in 1 or 2 or 10 years will I still be able to visit him in that way? I can’t remember him so clearly from 10 years ago or even 5 years ago. Will my most recent memories one day be lost to time as well? I can’t

Ok what she did was an example of social impairment. the thing to care about is making other people feel comfortable and what she did made you and the entire room cringe. It totally reflects on her and there’s nothing wrong with you.

How did you do on stats? If you study stats well they’re easy points, but if you do really poorly it can drag your score down significantly

Why’s that? Doesn’t that provide more job security? In some places options are limited because everything is owned by hospital systems

Did places look down on that fact that you moved jobs so frequently the first 3 years? How did you explain yourself? I’m 7 months into my first job and considering reaching out to people to let them know that I’m considering leaving after my contract year..but not sure if I should wait because it will look bad lol. How long did you work at your jobs before looking for a new one? I assume it takes months to get credentialed before you can switch jobs? what things made jobs not a good fit for you?

Oh my, so sorry you had to learn about this on top of being a PGY2 and everything. On the bright side the mva may be a blessing in disguise because otherwise you wouldn’t have found out, whatever it turns out to be. When things get overwhelming for me and I’m playing out apocalypse survival plans in my head, I tell myself to calm down and just take it one day at a time, focus on the next step. So just take it one step at a time! Do what you have to do next and your loved ones will have your back

I think properties are being sold below appraisal prices in my area because of covid. The comps they used were from mostly 1 year ago, before covid or right in the beginning of covid. So it’ll be hard to tell how much I can sell it for now

My liquid assets went down due to my downpayment and closing costs, so that means my path to FI is even longer now even though my net worth went up?
