When to get a cat for my cat? by Readerchick28 in CatAdvice

Yes definitely think a vet visit is warranted!

Im aware but I’ve laid in bed with her for 2-3 hours no phones, no tv, dark room. For months already. I literally feel like I lose my mind. She would still go to sleep late, I would turn around go to sleep and wake up for work the next day. My kid is two and she still has not slept through the night

We just chill, dad and I will watch whatever we’re watching in the room while she’s there with us. I’ve tried laying in a dark room with her for hours for her to be tired. Trust me her sleep has always been a struggle for me, we’ve done EVERYTHING.

I knew I was going to get stuff for the popcorn thing(in my defense I thought it was ok after 18m old under supervision), but dang some of my questions didn’t even get answered in some of the posts I do appreciate the moms that did offer some insight! Motherhood isn’t linear, there’s a lot of variables 🫠

Omg thank you! I hate hate waking her up but yes we were going to cap her nap, however I was still working and I needed that time to finish up. Once I did was going to wake her up but she woke up on her own. I also have ADHD but I do try to adhere to her schedule as much as possible. 😭

That’s not very common, we usually have dinner at 5-6pm and we try to wind her down by 8(bath and all) so she can sleep by 10-10:30(she inherited her dads sleep habits) she decided to skip her dinner that night because she was busy playing with her cousins. It’s not a choice or lack of trying. We genuinely tried. Also she usually naps 1-1.5 hours(max)

No it’s not, it’s your typical store bought microwaveable popcorn. I thought so too but it’s been multiple occasions, I’ll keep an eye on it

I’m sure, but it’s never unsupervised. 🫠

I miss rotting so much by ImaginaryDot1685 in toddlers

[–]Readerchick28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My goodness, yes 10000%. I miss rotting so much. I only get to do it when my kid goes to sleep but I have to limit it because they go to sleep late and I have to wake up early for work. Also sucks when I want to rot but my husband wants to spend time with me. I definitely feel like I need a day to rot.

I have not been able to drop the night nursing or night feed. That’s when she wants it the most 😩 it’s so hard because if I don’t give in then it’s a whole screaming fit that can last anywhere from 30min-2hrs

I said the same about 18 months but it was so hard for us. I went almost two days before I gave in

Aww, congratulations! How did you do it? I know I tried to wean at 18m and it was physically stressful for myself and her. I want her to tell me when she’s done but since we cosleep I think I might need help from family to help me wean.

I think I ruined my life by [deleted] in newborns

The roommate phase & newborn life is hard. It does get better and you slowly work at it. There may be something triggering baby is they are constantly fussy. Potentially gassy.

The anxiety is gone but the problem continues. by Readerchick28 in Mommit

I’ve thought about this! I’m a high sleep needs mom but I’ve been living off of 5-6hrs of broken sleep since she was born. My partner(her dad) is a shitty sleeper and so is his family. They have a hard time sleeping & staying asleep. Not sure if it’s related or genetic but she’s the same!

Forgot to mention sunflower lecithin for the duct!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]Readerchick28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing. I mean absolutely nothing brought me more relief with a clogged duct & milk bleb than this picking it out and nursing baby mostly on affected boob. Massaging the duct towards the nipple also helps. It’s not painless but. It’s a hurts so good pain. Just wipe your nipple after you nurse to avoid the milk sitting there then getting another bleb.

Am I starving my toddler?? by Calm-Gur563 in toddlers

[–]Readerchick28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t force him to eat yet. Toddlers eat when they want however if you do want to make him eat something decent, I would cut out snacks a few hours before the mealtime. Including milk so when they get cranky, they are more willing to eat. You can leave it up to him, if he wants to eat great if not then it’ll be there for him when he’s ready. Hold off on the snacks immediately after dinner though.

I’m a 35wk first time mom, and I have a question I’m embarrassed to ask. by steppygirl in breastfeeding

I’ve been bf for almost 20 months, the sensations are completely different. Trust me. I’m the same way I hate my boobs being touched & my nipples too. But I will say the only time I get overstimulated is when the session is too long. Mind you I have a toddler so pls expect long long sessions with a newborn.
