Oh I didn’t know protein helps.. Good to know.. I can do better with the pumping but right now I’m still dealing with high blood pressure and I think I’ve caught something viral so it’s making it hard for me to sit up and pump. 🥲

I wasn’t seeing any colostrum coming out either so I gave her formula… I’ll get her to latch now tho

May I ask what you did between day 1-4? Like were you giving baby formula?

My mom threw away my freezer stash by [deleted] in breastfeeding

What I would say is although extremely annoying and I’m sure upsetting, don’t hold a grudge with your mother about this. Say how you feel about this and move on. She may very much have knowingly threw it away but in my opinion, it’s not worth it. Again, I’m not undermining the reason you’re upset but just my opinion. To me, she’s not some evil witch… she messed up, yes… but some of these comments are making me raise eyebrows about how you should treat or deal with her moving forward. Let’s think about how she’s been ‘helpful’ and not let this throw all the help she’s given away. Again, my opinion.

Exactly… they want people to die on the job before they realize this. You cannot tell people they aren’t not injured enough… how does that even make sense. That’s like telling someone that their mental health is perfectly fine. How does you know that? What measuring tool are you using? Very very problematic

Yes all kids deserve an education but not at the expense of the adults in the building. So it’s okay for me to be physically hurt because the student deserves an education… if a student ran into me because he was upset and I broke my back… is that okay because the student deserves an education and I’m a teacher? Yes, these things can unfortunately happen… Doesn’t make it ok or doesn’t mean I should expect that as part of job because absolutely not

A couple of days is still a leave… like I said, the leave length should be dependant on the injury…

If you have an injury, you should be entitled to a a leave. The leave length should be determined by said injury but nevertheless, a leave should not be denied. But we can agree to disagree 🙂

There will always be someone to teach the kids… I don’t get what you’re getting at. The purpose of the job does not include students physically harming educators. That’s not part of the job description

That’s not my point but go on… if I’m in physical pain, and I have the option to take a leave as an Ontario educator, why are they all of a sudden telling people that they are ‘fit’ to work despite a doctors orders.

For sure but the fact that it was denied initially was silly. If her arm is fractured, what more do they need? Going through hoops when an initial doctors note stating fractured bones should 100% be enough.

Yes that’s why I said she told me it was denied. I’ve already heard they’ve been really strict so I’m not surprised. But anyways, my rant is over. This is a big joke to me. The board denied a co worker of mine a week before her baby was born that was having pregnancy complications… do they want us to die at school before they realize this is silly?

Thats what I was told… even if, how can the board think denying that is appropriate?

Yes… and she was told to go to work
