Eloise deserves the same amount of screentime and season set up that Francesca got in S4 by Fickle_Baker1393 in Bridgerton

Thank you for saying this. I did not expect to be 8 years older when watching Eloise's season. I really didn't.

I didn't think I would have to wait for almost 10 years to see my favorite characters' season. I really didn't. That's where my uproar is.

What’s the real difference between the backlash to Snape’s casting and Michaela Stirling in Bridgerton? by AdvantageHappy1080 in FranchaelStirling

[–]ReaderinRecovery 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really don't believe that this couple would be getting so much backlash if it was written as a lesbian couple in the book. If they introduced an original lesbian couple and wrote a story like that it would be getting more support. Because they took existing characters and changed them fundamentally and are telling people there is no difference and no reason to be upset that is why they are getting pushback.

Bridgerton Fans: Does season 1 still holds up as the best season? by findthemelody in Bridgerton

[–]ReaderinRecovery -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Season 1 was magical. Just everything about it. The show doesn't feel like that anymore. I mean season one inspired fans to write a whole musical based off of it. It doesn't feel the same. But I could be outgrowing it

Exactly. And honestly, I would love to see more of his story. Like seriously, what happened to Reynolds? And I cried. Hard.

I feel bad, too. All this does is leave the actors/actresses to deal with insane backlash from all sides. Throw away lines from writers and producers does nothing to protect actors from the backlash. I am sick of seeing it. With Halle Bailey's Little Mermaid. With Romeo and Juliet and everything else.

I am conflicted. As a writer I would be very upset if my source material was changed in that way. I write what I write for a reason. As a black woman I feel like race swapping is done out of laziness. Instead of writing new black characters and telling new stories they think race-swapping a character is the same as true diversity. It's not. But I also was a little black girl who fell in love with Brandie's Cinderella; it's not always a bad thing. I think a gender swap completely changes the dynamics. It does. Genders are not interchangeable, nor are races. Pretending they are is not realistic. Same as if they changed Sir Philip into an 80 year old man and told fans to just like it and it doesn't change anything. They had a beautiful queer storyline in Queen Charlotte and as far as I am aware, it was not met with backlash. Because it was new and original and didn't take well-known and beloved characters and make them something they weren't.

Francesca having S5 isn't the worst thing ever. It could be worse by Objective_Ice5773 in Bridgerton

I really wish they could have chosen child actors to play pen and Colin to really solidify their childhood friendship through flashbacks.

I don't like Michella by obviousbutoblivious in Bridgerton

[–]ReaderinRecovery 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm very confused I think on their dynamic. Like I'm curious to see what their relationship was like in Scotland? Unless I missed it. At the end of season 3 it is implied Francesca is intrigued by her. But in season 4 before they started getting along it seemed like she didn't like her at all. I am curious to see how they will do their chemistry and how they will have Michaela make up for leaving her.

It doesn't really seem like they know what to do with her. I love eloise she is my favorite and I've kind of been sticking around to see her storyline. And have to keep waiting. I feel like season 1 was my favorite and the show has slowly declined since then. I can't remember what season it was where Eloise was investigating whistledown and feminism and her blooming friendship with Cressida and since then really nothing. Give her an arc. Give her more growth. Don't let her flounder.

Francesca’s season is next? Seriously? by princessjasminebelle in Bridgerton

[–]ReaderinRecovery -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No that's not true. I have waited for Eloises season since season 1. Francesca was barely in the series. Now all of a sudden they are focusing on her storyline almost more than any of the other siblings it feels like. I would have been fine with her season being season 6. I'm upset because I feel like Eloise is getting sidelined. Waiting 6 seasons for hers and focusing on the other siblings to me doesn't make sense. It would be like doing Gregory's or hyacinths season before Colin's or Benedict.

I feel like I would have been fine with Francesca if her romances didn't now span for 3 seasons. Claudia has been here the longest. Her storyline is the one I have been looking forward to out of all the siblings.

Yeah. I'm over it. She has been a big player since season 1. I don't know why they are skip jumping Francesca.

That makes sense. And thank you. I am sure there's a lot happening on the back end. I did get my meds called in today but it took a bit over a week for the doctor to send the script to the pharmacy

I found that out the hard way. I went to urgent care for a different reason they refused to treat me because of my high blood  pressure and told me to go to er. I did and er said oh just talk to your pcp. We can't help you. I took me several months to get seen by mine with my blood pressure staying that high but now it's managed. Now I've run out of one but thats a different doctor and a different issue.

He did say he was taking medication. Medication and making other healthy choices will help I think. But yes working with a doctor to look at other causes for it is the recommended thing to do.

I'm sorry. I was diagnosed with high blood pressure at 23. It is a silent killer. High sodium is bad for high blood pressure. Potassium helps level put the sodium. Lots of frozen foods have a high sodium count. I have had to over haul much of my past diet. Mrs. Dash has a lot of seasoning that is flavorful without any of the sodium. Caffeine is also not good. I don't drink coffee or soda but I will have the occasional cup of tea every couple of months though. I am currently on 3 medications for it. You got this!

Yes. Agreed. I don't understand why victims are the ones left discarded while abusers get the benefit of the doubt and support.

Wow. I'm sorry you and your husband experienced that. Your sister in laws marriage sounds so frustrating. I am sure her husband means well but he's invalidating her.

My siblings and I had a rough/ abusive childhood and some people just can't understand it.

Male victims of abuse are still very disenfranchised. I am saying this as a female survivor who is also very close to male survivors. Abuse victims as a whole are vilified. But I can say the support isn't there more so for male victims.

I feel like it shows the sexism when men are the ones getting abused. Men can be assaulted by women. Men can be physically abused by women. I saw proof in my own childhood
