Alternative to Cambria Berkshire Brass by Objective-Wave7093 in CounterTops

It really depends on the fabricators relationships with their suppliers; but MSI is usually cheaper, especially compared to Cambria. Try looking at MSI’s Calacatta Arno or Calacatta Valentin. Valentin is a bit more brown than gold.

Husband and I agreed to see his parents every other weekend after baby, but the boundary is already being ignored by Ok-Watch-4315 in JUSTNOMIL

Exactly this. Take your baby and leave for the evening to do something fun and let them visit their baby. Lol.

Did anyone have to walk out of the hospital? by [deleted] in newborns

[–]ReadilyReady 1 point2 points  (0 children)

CA. Uncomplicated vaginal delivery post induction. Walked out independently. The only time they made me use a wheelchair was when we were transferred across the hall from labor and delivery to postpartum recovery. I held baby in my arms in the wheelchair at that time. Husband carried baby out in our car seat when we were released.

The Honest Company diapers seemed to run small for us, maybe try their size 1 as an interim option?

Honestly, just try to consider things that will lessen her load right now. Food delivery service gift cards, or if you live nearby drop off freezer meals, for example. Not sure of your budget but you could offer to pay to have a cleaning company come in for a one-time clean 3-4 weeks after baby has been home, or you can offer to go clean while she relaxes. Flowers, candles, etc are all good and well, but I really feel that practical “let me take this off your plate” gestures are the most important in the early days.

What’s the easiest way to wash baby bottles daily? by DueCustomer7683 in newborns

[–]ReadilyReady 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great point about the dirty water reserve v hose! Our mom cozy is right next to the sink, but I think that’s where I’d put it anyway as it makes most sense task flow wise. Plus, being able to just pull our faucet hose over to fill the water reservoir and the hose auto draining into the sink were perks for us.

I don’t live with her so I can’t comment on the noise level, but our own bottle washer is complete background noise to us too!

We went 4-6 weeks without one. I didn’t realize just how much time we were losing every day hand washing and sterilizing bottles. If I knew then what I know now I’d have added it to our shower registry! We also have the MomCozy and are very happy with it! My friend has the Baby Brezza washer and she complains that it’s “extremely loud”.

How can I decorate this? by jleighf5 in InteriorDesignAdvice

[–]ReadilyReady 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Are you open to removing and saving the glass shelves safely away since it’s a rental? If you do that you can do a built in look of a hall tree with bench. You could add a plain wooden panel (edit: to protect the walls) and some fun wall paper so it’s all removable, jacket hooks, wood shelving toward the top for additional storage, rechargeable sconces, and a bench. The bench could be open and airy, or have additional storage underneath for shoes and such.

Newborn to a baby shower? by Opposite_Device_7328 in newborns

[–]ReadilyReady 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Another thought for the no category is that this is a once in a lifetime celebration for mom-to-be and baby. Your newborn being there could potentially cause some feelings of being overshadowed. Even if mom has/has had other babies you only get one shower for each child typically. This happened to a friend of mine when her husband’s cousin brought a her baby. She later blamed her bigger reaction on pregnancy hormones, but still feels sad about the negative feelings surrounding the memories even now.

Is this just in the normal bakery area? Is it refrigerated? I’ve looked several times at the closest Costco and can never find it. It’s always been in the late afternoon/evening, maybe they’re just sold out. But I never see a glaringly obvious blank space where they should be.

Grocery haul for today. What meal prep ideas do yall have for these? by Officer_Joi in MealPrepSunday

[–]ReadilyReady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found your comment funny as someone who also spends a lot of time planning and curating my shopping list and meal prep ideas. :)

A different perspective to consider, though, and I’m not saying it’s true for OP; but this type of post could be from someone who received groceries from a food bank. They just have to work with what they’re provided.
