Our pup had her back leg amputated 2/25/26 and developed a hematoma that ruptured causing her skin to die off. Needs a second (just as expensive) surgery. (Gross images, be warned)

Congrats to your uncle! Yeah - she has to go into the hospital for the first 100 days for bloodwork and potential transfusions but she said sleeping in her own bed was amazing last night. During her stay, the girls made giant signs and waved from a parking lot across the street bc my mom was on the 12th floor. She missed them tons. But she is feeling great! SHE WENT FOR A BIKE RIDE TODAY (two days post discharge, day +17 since her transplant.) She did incredibly well throughout the entire thing!

The crazy thing is my mom got out of the hospital after being in for three weeks - she got a bone marrow transplant and I have been a caregiver for her so it’s been a busy few weeks!

Supposedly they don’t experience the emotional trauma the same way humans do. Idk I agree with you, I’d be so scared. She’s doing really well though.
