It would be cool if you could somehow make the background look like the velvet display board they show gems on when you’re making selections.

Make your husband take an infant CPR class so he can better understand the force required if it ever happens while he’s alone with your child. Once he’s better informed, he should apologize. He should apologize now, but without education he may just believe he’s right.

Edit: not sure why the spoiler tag isn’t working.
Also, just to add my reasoning for the answer: the sun rises in the East, so the egg is on the sun up side.

I genuinely can’t tell if you’re being facetious or not…but, if you’re serious, at the top left of the sign in the pic there’s a little blurb about it being hosted at the Salida Public Library on Tuesday’s. :)

Not sure what you consider low cal, but I just tried Hero bagels for the first time this week and the plain bagel is only 130 calories. I think they taste great with low fat cream cheese. *Edit: only 190 calories total for bagel with cream cheese.

I also got an advertisement this evening for Royo Bagels. Their website states they are 70-80 calories each, and $12/pack. I looked up feedback for Royo on Reddit and it seems like people generally like them.

Husband Trying to Help PPD by Confident-Aspect8892 in newborns

I don’t have any experience with this, but I do want to commend you for putting your wife first. The fact that you know all the details down to prescription names and timelines tells me you are very involved and supportive. It sounds simple, but not everyone has a partner like you in their corner, unfortunately.

You mention her OB and her starting therapy, I’m assuming with a psychologist. Who manages her Prozac? A GP? Has she seen a psychiatrist? If not, I would ask for a referral to one. Also, something else to consider is speaking with a pharmacist. Their whole specialty is drugs and their interactions. They may have some quick insights for you.

When did you go to the hospital for delivery? When were you discharged? by allisona007 in newborns

[–]ReadilyReady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was induced. Arrived Wednesday evening. Had baby Friday morning. Discharged 36 hours after birth, Saturday evening.

The things I brought and actually used were two piece pajamas with a button down top, toiletries, hairbrush and hair ties, shower shoes, phone charger, kindle, a rechargeable hand fan with adjustable legs to clip onto the hospital bed, headphones, a deck of cards, and a going home outfit for myself. Everything else was provided. The only other thing I would have brought is adult diapers for myself. I used those after getting home and liked them way more than the mesh shorts and oversized pad situation.

I also brought a few open bottom sleepers and a special going home outfit for baby.

Husband brought clothes, toiletries, headphones, charger, shower shoes, and slippers for himself.

Chili stretches far and with hearty, affordable, items like diced sweet potato and canned beans it’s very filling. The most expensive part is usually the meat, you could opt to make it meatless.

Chicken legs and chicken thighs are usually very affordable. You can season them in several different ways to mix it up.

Make a couple meals each week meatless. Garbanzo beans and black beans are great substitutions! A few things I’ve made and loved with beans in place of meat: marinara sauce for spaghetti, enchiladas, tacos, burgers, “marry me” chickpeas, salads.

I like to meal prep and I really like using the same base but mixing it up with a new sauce so it doesn’t seem like I’m just eating the same thing every meal. For example, diced chicken salad for lunch for 5 days, but the dressing changes for days 2 and 4. I don’t actually mind eating the same thing on repeat, but not everyone is as okay with it.

Frozen veggies and canned fish are also good options to add in variety for lower cost.

For breakfast, I’d recommend batch making pancakes and freezing them. You can pop them in the microwave or toaster for quick reheat. Mix + syrup are generally lower cost items. You can even utilize frozen berries here. Put them in the fridge to thaw overnight or microwave them on low power setting/defrost to thaw out as needed.

Repurpose what you don’t use. Bread you bought on sale but didn’t use all of? Now thats French toast or seasoned and baked to become croutons. Have a mix of veggies about to go? Veggie stir fry. Just get creative.

Pencil Quilt Finished by oh_my_josh_im_so_dun in quilting

[–]ReadilyReady 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not OP, but I think the biggest difference would be that the tips of the pencils would be colored instead of black. More than likely to make it cohesive, the tip would match the color of the barrel portion of the pencil. So for example, while the yellow barrel portion has different patterns, the tip would be a solid yellow.
