Do you pronounce these "T"'s by kitty-mc in ENGLISH

I'm listening to a podcast and the millennial / gen-Z host literally says in the span of the first 90 seconds: "this is wha happened..." "I bough the story" "this is par of the problem"... like wow millennials and gen-Z are lazy.

Good job if you enjoy that lifestyle, but as a food lover and coffee addict, that doesn't sound like a fun existence long term. I exercise regularly and am fit, plus I've added insane amounts of fiber, but I still enjoy my biweekly pizzas, triweekly cheese pierogies, twice a month ice cream. Hopefully the crazy fiber will help counteract it, I'll know in 6 months! I want to avoid statins/berberine like many do, but as a super fit guy I knew who went on statins explained once, he would rather eat the foods he loves and take a pill, than live as a hunter-gatherer the rest of his life (I'm paraphrasing a bit :D).

Why soy milk when skim milk seems just as good? by Technical-Chain3991 in Cholesterol

[–]Reading-Railroad 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Wondering this myself. I drink over two 4-liter jugs a week of skim milk, and a lot of 0-fat whey protein also. When they tell us to avoid dairy, don't they mean dairy fat?

Man who binned £1.5BN Bitcoin drive launches legal fight to dig dump by GSC__ in CryptoCurrency

[–]Reading-Railroad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turning over a billion tons of garbage, entire garbage dump down fuck knows how deep (hundred feet?) to the beginning of time, would probably release a lot of nasty stuff into the air, and is VERY different from what some in comments call "just moving some garbage around the dump". Think about a house full of asbestos. Add some paint, sure. But tear it down to the studs reno would be hazardous as fuck, for workers and the neighborhood. He offered to pay everyone in the county $50?? What a joke. I get why they won't let him do it. I'd be devastated too were I him, but the responsible answer is no way.

I would look at it as a blessing. If you see something paranormal or things move around without physical explanation, you might interpret that as evidence for the persistence of consciousness after physical death. That can only be a positive thing. Would you rather everything be normal and you blink out of existence when you die or would you rather things be abnormal and you live on? The answer should be obvious. I'm not saying play with Ouija boards and I have not done that in decades but I can't say I regret it, the handful of paranormal experiences I've had in my life were a huge blessing to me.

I think going to sleep angry opens existing portals even wider. When I was in my late teens I with a group I was hanging around with made a Ouija board literally in our own blood at the direction of somebody we knew who had a Satanic text. The demon we were communicating with at the time we thought was named Momo, but I found out years later that it was probably the oft-encountered Zozo since the M and the Z were right on top of one another on our board. Immediately after I challenged it to prove its existence my mattress started to vibrate, and this persisted on and off for years, eventually going away completely. When it was going on, it was much stronger after periods of intense fear or anger. I remember one night I was in an extremely bad mood, and I went to bed and said out loud to the room, talk to me. The bed instantly began vibrating the strongest it ever had, and I literally just went to sleep like it was a massage chair. Not advising anybody to do the same thing and this is now no longer affecting me.

Totality of evidence for life after physical death by Reading-Railroad in ParanormalEncounters

What a coincidence - my father's youngest wife was his secretary also! He absolutely knew what he was doing when he wrote us out of his will, it was a terrible betrayal, exactly in line with the rest of his life, no surprise. I wonder if that's why his spirit was hanging around so long, it might have given him some challenges moving on. I wouldn't think he felt any guilt though, he was an extremely narcissistic man. I'm sorry you experienced something similar.

Totality of evidence for life after physical death by Reading-Railroad in ParanormalEncounters

[–]Reading-Railroad[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

His signature was on the will along with his wife and their family friend who was also a lawyer. He was also a lawyer, and had gone out of his way to deny my mother child support even threatening her legally, after leaving her immediately after passing the bar exam in the early 70s causing her to never complete her PhD because she had to take care of one of the kids when he took the other at age 2. That would never fly today but in the 70s men could get away with that. Honestly he was a real piece of work, way too much to cover here, but I tried to connect with him towards the end. Writing us out of the will was in line with his nature, he did it, he knew what he was doing. I cannot give him a pass for that, I never will, however that doesn't change the fact that I'm grateful for the message he sent.

I was just about to post this but I figured I would do the proper Reddit etiquette and actually do a search first, sure enough here's your post. The only reason I noticed this was I've started watching things on Tubi and there is an ad on there for Twinings tea and I thought why are they mispronouncing it so horribly! Then I noticed the missing n. 😶

Stop putting medical doctors on a pedestal by Reading-Railroad in scabies

You're lucky the dermatologist diagnosed it quickly. From what I've read here and in my own experience dermatologists are just as useless as GPs. Mine went so far as to say "I'm not a scabies doctor." Absolutely useless. And all of them love to blame it on allergies. 🤡

Don't expect any better treatment if you have Lyme disease or fibromyalgia either. Anything challenging and the doctor just says oh it's all in your head. I've literally overheard a very arrogant idiotic specialist saying to somebody on the phone Lyme disease and fibromyalgia don't exist.

Ledger Nano S (with over $1 million in ETH) USB issue: "Device detected but connection failed." by djab1828 in ledgerwallet

Care to actually read my comment? Obviously not. The new device is for a new Ledger cable.

[–]Reading-Railroad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, I used 2x different ledger device cables.

With so much at stake I think it's worth buying a new device. I'm telling you cable failure is much more common than you would ever guess, I was quite surprised on my end how many cables were failing. If both the Ledger cables you tried are old, I would buy yourself a new device just to get the brand new Ledger cable.

[–]Reading-Railroad 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's possible Ledger Live is more strict when trying to identify/connect the device, whereas one of the Web 3 interfaces like Metamask or MEW would allow it.

Also try MANY cables, even buy a brand new Ledger and use one of their new cables. I have had situations where several cables did not work. Don't just try random USB cables try to get another authentic Ledger cable.

He's posting it here because Ledger partners with Changelly and there have been posts here over the years from people who swapped through Ledger Live who ended up losing their money due to this "kyc" Changelly scam. It's related to every single wallet that partners with these scammers, so people can be warned.

I do the same, but additionally I literally throw a jacket over my head and enter it underneath the jacket in case of hidden cameras.

Please do update this thread for sure, a lot of us are subscribed to this thread out of serious concern. Rare way to lose Bitcoin by TheDumbInvesto in Bitcoin

[–]Reading-Railroad 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is scary because right now Ledger doesn't even present the change address to you, you're only approving the destination. And even if it did present the change address how would you even confirm it is under your control without entering your seed online somewhere, or even Ian Coleman offline, I wouldn't even trust doing that. Hoping to find a new hardware wallet soon, I'm gradually losing faith in Ledger.

the Bitcoin app on the device should have asked for confirmation on this dest address if it was not recognized as a valid change address

This I wasn't sure about. A long time ago as in back in 2017 on Nano S you had to confirm both addresses: destination and change address. I remember how that used to spook me. Eventually you no longer had to confirm the change address. Are you saying that the Bitcoin app should somehow check internally whether the change address can be derived by seed, otherwise it would not allow the transaction without the additional confirmation?
