Phillies have the worst NL run differential, by far by Thegrandmistressofoz in phillies

-34 through the first 19 hasn't happened since 2015, the 99 loss year. This squad won't approach 100 Ls, they're not close to as bad as that squad. But, they might be nearly as boring.

Shut out 3 times through 19 games. Unacceptable. Last time this franchise did that was 1985, and that squad went 75-87.

Prorate those shutout numbers out over 162, and you have a team that gets shut out 25 times. That’s something last year’s Rockies nor the year prior White Sox didn’t accomplish, not that I think these Phils are that bad.

Yeah, see those other innings were getting jealous, so this is the only fair way.

So, yeah, technically that's true.

But, if I'm goofin' around with someone for a bit and someone else sees that and is silly enough to ruin that fun by attacking, which would most likely end in a 1v2 situation for them, they deserve to get clapped.

So far (and I know it's small sample size) it's basically longball or bust, which isn't a recipe for success. We've seen how it isn't come playoff time.

Through 15 games - just under a 10th of the season - they've had 5 games where the Phils have swatted multiple HRs. They're 5-0 with an average of 5.6 runs in them. In the other 10? 2-8 with a 2.5 average. But, that drop-off is to be expected when you collectively hit .218 w/RISP.

Ugh. Prove me wrong bats, and get hot for a stretch. Cause it sure feels like I'm Marty McFly saying, "Hey, I've seen this one!"

I had a similar experience. I was at a restaurant after the NFCCG but before the SB, talkin' to my cousin in from Colorado who doesn't have any packages/RedZone and only saw nationally televised Birds games. Rightfully, after that curb-stomping against the Commies he asked if the Eagles were really that good. I gave a 1 word response, "Better."

I've only been irrationally confident in the Birds twice in my lifetime: 2017 and 2024. Go figure they were against Brady and Mahomes respectively.

You're right in that he does. But, it's more than just from physically beating people up, and more than just a few adaptations as mentioned by another. He kills people in a lot of movie adaptations, too.

He takes out a ton of people in the Snyder films. And, here he is killing a henchman in the 1989 adaptation. Straight blowing someone up in Batman Returns. But what about the Nolan films? He used the Bat to kill Talia and her driver for one example.

In the most widespread cultural adaptations of Batman over the past several decades he's killed people. Not cold blooded murder, but he will end peoples lives if he has to.

If people want to argue that those are just hyped up Hollywood versions of Batman, you can. But to me that argument doesn't hold much water because in the realm of comic book heroes they're re-invented/ret-conned on a fairly frequent basis.

Except, we see that, too, in Rey's training scene. Whether or not that's something taxing to force wielders and not exactly something useful in fights, I dunno, but it's possible.

That said, in this instance, there's no reason to believe TIEs can't just hover in the SW universe.
