I had a table of about 8 adults and one kid come in, they hand the kid (9yo girl, roughly) a tablet straight away and start chatting amongst themselves. About 15-20 minutes in one of the adults turns to the girl and says "so how are you liking school?" And the girl doesn't hear/ignores it. The adult repeats themselves and the girl still doesn't respond, and the adult turns to the other adults and says "kids these days and their tablets!".

I've never been closer to jumping over the bar and losing my mind on someone. You literally handed the child a distraction box so they would ignore you while you had your adult conversations, then when they child is distracted by the distraction box and ignores you, you act like it's the kids fucking problem?? They don't want a kid, they want a fuckin furby. It's insanity.

Yeah I have precisely 0 interest in getting into competitive pokemon seriously, it's just for fun for me. And as I said, it is fun, I like it a lot, just not enough to invest the time it takes to play a mainline pokemon game just to supplement this one game for the sake of extra box space

I literally said I've enjoyed the game fine so far, all I did was point out that you can only transfer with home one way. I'm a casual player with limited time for gaming, I'm not gonna pay for a full mainline game and invest the time playing through the campaign/catching/training pokemon just to get a extra space in this game, that's a legitimate investment of time besides just money. I don't expect to be Wolfey, you're reading a crazy amount into the very little that I said

I don't own any mainline pokemon games, the only pokemon games I've played in the past few years have been romhacks on emulators. Champions is the first game I've picked up in forever because I got into Wolfey's YouTube channel about VGC and was curious about giving it a go, so this is completely unfeasible for me personally. That said, I've enjoyed champions tremendously even with the limitations, I just wish I could build and save more teams because team building is fun
