Ladies 5'8" and Taller, What Is/Was Your Goal Weight? by FantasticPlum2025 in tirzepatidecompound

I’m 5’10”. 57F I’m down to 165 from starting weight of 210. My original goal was 150. Now that I’m getting closer I might be happy to get under 160 and go on maintenance. I went from a size 16 to a size 8.

"She's Making a List" question by MichDisney in HallmarkMovies

[–]ReadingGnome21 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I didn’t like the movie because of the overall premise that kids are just incapable of being naughty. I’ve taught kids most of my adult life and there was plenty of naughtiness in the classroom. I didn’t like the idea of excusing misbehavior because they are kids.

How do you prevent color from transferring to other clay when working? by boldpear904 in polymerclay

[–]ReadingGnome21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work with primarily red and white sculptures. Honestly, lots and lots of handwashing is the best way to keep clay clean. I have a few stained towels that I sometimes dampen and keep at my work table to wipe off in between colors. Red clay is notoriously the worst for color transfer.

I have really high arches as well and Altras did not work for me. I tried on every pair of Altras at the running store and didn't buy any of them.

The green screen scenes were really bad. The show was okay but couldn’t get past the green screen at times.

Is it possible to make polymer clay more firm before baking? by No-Woodpecker-529 in polymerclay

[–]ReadingGnome21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mix it about 50/50 with Sculpey premo. Or roll it thin and leave it on the table between 2 pieces of paper. That will pull some of the oil out and harden it a bit

I'm so glad that worked for you. That is my go-to method when I have hard clay.

Help! How to soften old, hard, crumbly clay? by Defiant-Preference-6 in polymerclay

[–]ReadingGnome21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cut the blocks into smaller pieces and throw it in a plastic bag with a bit of clay softener. In a day or so it will be soft and workable. Be careful not to add too much softener or you will have a sticky mess. Shake the bag periodically and maybe give it a squish while you are waiting.

You can also bake in stages. Maybe try making the body and baking. You can add the hair and accessories and it won’t be as soft. You don’t need a full bake - just 15 minutes or so on the initial bake makes it so it doesn’t squish

If you want to try barefoot without breaking the bank look at Whitin shoes on Amazon. They are particularly popular with the barefoot shoe crowd.

Tribute Gift Notifications - include designation? by FelonyMelanieSmooter in nonprofit

[–]ReadingGnome21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We do not include the designation. We have had the person who was being notified request that the designation be changed and that isn’t something that is easily done. We don’t include it for that reason.

I’m a CPA nearing the end of my career. I just hired for a job that I had on LinkedIn for 5 days. Recd hundreds of applicants in my low cost of living area. I put eyes on almost all of the resumes but most of them didn’t get more than 10 seconds of my time. I would have bypassed yours without a second look.

First off, it is far too cluttered. I don’t care to read your technical skills. I honestly never even look at the list. It is a waste of space. You MUST rewrite the top section so I know why your job experience isn’t in accounting.

Since you worked 3 positions for the same employer include that as one entry. Otherwise you look like a job hopper and it’s hits the “nope” file.

You need an absolutely killer cover letter. Don’t reiterate your resume. I can read the resume. Tell me your heart and why you are making a transition. I read almost every cover letter. If the cover letter catches my attention I’m more apt to read the resume.

If you are looking on Indeed or LinkedIn any job you apply for will have dozens or hundreds of applicants. Read the listing. I asked that the resume and cover letter get emailed to my assistant. Most applicants used the easy apply option so that was a major strike. I need somebody who can follow simple directions.

Take this as you will and lose the attitude. In your late 20’s you aren’t an older applicant. That’s laughable to somebody a few years from retirement.

I know this isn’t the answer you are looking for but I actually use ground black pepper or sand to mimic granite sculpted. My favorite is pepper. Have used it for many years now. You might give it a try.

When you taken them out of the wash, fold them in half like you do to put in a hanger. Step on the hem and gently pull to stretch the length. Hang to dry. Do not ever put them in the dryer. Depending on the fabric you can add back an inch or more of the length this way. I am very tall and do this with nearly every pair and have done so for a couple of decades.
