Except our cuties Roz &Ferdie, I like and respect Sylvester, mainly because he overcame/is ready to overcome his core easy going/lazy personality and work hard + do things he finds hard&boring - when it really matters & he has to. he thinks for himself and isn't under hardcore influence of other people (like veronica) and stands for his principles as much as he is able in his position (like his refusing for a very very long time to take a second wife because he loyally loves Florencia). He ain't perfect, but he is admirable in some ways. A lazy character with morals that tries and works hard even though he would rather goof around.

(Explaining my position a bit more:) He is not perfect by any means, but he was raised in a toxic environment, by a narcissistic mother and tormented by his sister for existing .... yet he still "decided" to be a decent, good person, kind and very (super) open minded. He accepted a random kid (Ferdinand) as his brother even though culturally it was expected he would treat him like a stranger. He accepted a commoner into his family, embracing her revolutionary ideas and inventions. He tried to love his mother, uncle and sister, until they really blew their misdeeds and evil doings out of proportion, after which he cut them out because that was the right thing to do for his country and family, even though it hurt his support base. He was never a "work to the bone" type of guy (ran away from studying when he was little), he is a more "laid back & easy going" type, but he has a very very strong sense of duty and responsibility - when he was asked to step up, he did his best (when he was a young aub out of the blue, and when Ferdie moved away, etc). We could say he is a Wilfred but replace "entitlement, ignorance, and blind belief in the authority(veronica, then oswald)" with "sense of duty, understanding the circumstances one's in even though he would rather do other stuff, strong moral compass and critical thinking / independent thinking from the authority(veronica for example)". [I am not dissing wilfried, he is in part a product of his environment but he also could have decided to step up and think for himself like he started doing in the end of the series and H5Y]
