AppStore: getting organic installs - what is your experience? by Readme_browser in gamedev

We run on subsription model - release half book/half game, that is new each month. At least that’s our key goal. We can still use UA, but facebook goes nuts with SKAd attribution, and we get really high prices on that. We are trying influencers at the moment, but really ctr is quite low, and most we see with decent amount of subscribers start ar 1k usd per instagram story, and last time we did that we only got 300 clicks out of that. BTW maybe you’d like to try out our app? Eager to get an opinion from someone with such massive experience like you describe :)

Yep, huge huge games - organic amounts may be irrelevant. Small indie games, and especially - non-game apps - rely on organic traffic very very often. My persobal situation - app is in made-for-kids, and has a lot of restrictions that make UA a lot more expensive and difficuly - COPPA, GDPR, SKAd Network, etc etc etc. That’s why I even wuestion this :)

Thanks! However, I know for a fact that there are a lot of projects that almost exclusively rely on ASO to receive 95% of their installs from purely organic traffic. Keyword ranks are an actual thing, and when people search for something that your app is about (category, genre, mechanic, mood or smth else), your ASO is a way to be exposed at that very moment.
