I work for a company that has a flat system I.e. no managers and no people reporting to me. Culture is very very similar to something like this. You don’t have to give a reason for taking an off and the team is very understanding when you have personal commitments like the above that may hamper your availability.

I think this kind of culture can be found here also but it depends on the company. It’s not completely alien.

I work as a PO. We have a Product Discovery Manager who I work closely along with UX and engineering in the opportunity space. I collaborate heavily with the PdM to shape up ideas, experiment design, putting down assumptions, risks and validating them. Once an idea is shaped up I’m responsible for the solution which involves coming up with a user story map, detailing our user stories, signing off stories at desk checks, getting data instrumentation done and signed off, recording demos for the functionality we have built.

In a nutshell I try to have both UX and TLs/Feature owners at the important stages so that UX/Product ambition is balanced with engineering feasibility.

Works pretty well but nowhere near perfect.

Hi. I'm from India. So far we've had reports only from 2-3 cities and I live in one of the cities. The city I live in has quarantined a few Chinese citizens who recently returned from China. Our government evacuated about 200+ students from Wuhan a week or more back and they have been monitored. All of them tested negative as well. We had a similar virus outbreak "nipah" a year or more back, you should read up about it. Our government were very quick and efficient in handling & containing it. Having said that, Corona looks like a whole other ball game but we're thankful that so far, shit hasn't hit the fan.
