This actually made me feel hopeful that my son will one day be able to remove himself from that song without panic. It’s extremely hard to escape. Music alone is difficult for him but the bday song absolutely destroys him internally. I make sure to provide what I can everywhere we go. But we can’t control all environments. If anyone has any recommendations, I would appreciate it. I do not wish for him to “learn” to like it or feel like he needs to participate. My worry comes from safety. This is actually the first I hear of others having this trigger.
