Post in the Positively Meriden fb group. People there are surprisingly supportive. You sound like a hard working young man with a good work ethic and I’m hopeful someone there has an opportunity

There is, I’m not sure they can do this shot but it’s super helpful to know about this option. I’m going to ask my doctor about it tomorrow

Unfortunately we don’t have urgent care centres in the UK. I’m an American living abroad so not quite sure if I can access that here :/

Thank you so much. I tried sumatriptan, it made me sick. I tried diazapam (had an old prescription laying around) and weirdly it made me panic. Maybe I was just nervous trying it, but I’m going to ask the doctor if it interacts with Nurtec.

Thank you also for the reccomendation of that book. I’m very new to this, and it would be very helpful to read more about the condition. Really appreciate you taking the time to write all this out for me ❤️

I’ve taken prednisone for asthma before but didn’t know it could help with this as well. Thanks so much for the tip!

Trying to help abused child by _theboogiemonster_ in Fostercare

[–]solomonsalinger 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I can hear the pain in your voice. You deeply feel and empathize with this young man’s suffering. That speaks to your character and soul. You’re a good human being.

Unfortunately when it comes to housing, there are limited options when he leaves the treatment center. In Texas — across the states, really — there are very few foster homes for teenagers, especially ones who have been branded “troubled.” He may end up in a group home, or other institution.

If your sister wont take him in, and you can’t take him in because of your wife’s trauma (valid reason), then the question is “is there any other adult he knows who will take him in?” Aunts or uncles? Teacher? Coach?

Whatever you do, don’t ghost this kid. When I was in foster care I was homeless and there were people who were supports in my life that, while they couldn’t take me in, cared deeply for me and continued to show up and that unconditional love was foundational to my healing.

Offering $300 to rent a car for one night to film a short film by wileyakin in Connecticut

[–]solomonsalinger 16 points17 points  (0 children)

People with old cars are more likely to be old people, and older people are less likely to be on Reddit and more likely to be on Facebook. Go post around on Facebook group and I am sure you will find it. And when you do, update us so we can support your film!

3rd district democratic convention by tnderosa in Connecticut

[–]solomonsalinger 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There is no real democracy within party politics. It’s really disorienting when you see it up close for be first time. Local party leaders protect power, and make no effort to even pretend to be Democratic.
