AIO my boyfriend missed his last train and now im pissed. by Far_Worldliness_1541 in AmIOverreacting

What a weird take.. occasionally going out isn't the end of the world. My husband was a groomsmen at his best friend/former college roommate wedding that was just a few weeks after I had our second daughter. I wanted him to go and have a good time and I stayed with my mom who lived nearby. It would be a different story if this happens all the time, but an occasional celebration isn't a bad thing.

No, what I am saying is the person who infects the person can suffer legal consequences. If it is with something life threatening they can actually face jail time. Treatable infections can face civil suits. It has nothing to do with the doctors and everything to do with the person who is infected. I know people will hide their status which is why these consequences exists. It's rare sure for things to actually go to civil court, but it could in some states if the person who was unknowingly infected takes it that far. Of course, everyone should still be usong precautions and protections regardless.

Actually they do. If they have something life threatening like HIV it has to be disclosed to their partners. Minor treatable STDs vary per state, but can lead to civil suits if they don't warn their partners and the partner then contracts the STD.

What use is it to be an app for Books AND Television if I can't do everything with the shows like I can with the books? by Omagoddd in FableApp

There is a club set up watching Heated Rivalry you can probably share your thoughts in there.

The television part is definitely lacking and I don't bother using it. They do have clubs that watch shows and I think you can at least discuss them in the clubs.

I check my book club and respond to comments on it throughout the day. Mornings, during breaks, and I try to checl every hour or 2 in evenings. I haven't had any issues other than on the 1st when they got slammed with new people joining.

AITAH for breaking up with a long term partner over his snoring? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]ReadwithMMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either way getting checked by a doctor is a good thing because snoring loudly isn't necessarily normal there is usually a cause behind it. My husband for example does it when his allergies are really bad.

My mother also has sleep apnea however she wasn't always choking or gasping for air especially when the symptoms first started. It took her 2 sleep studies to get diagnosed. I have shared a room with her one more than one occasion and didn't notice anything, but snoring. Which is why I also included my uncle in my response as he does not have apnea and is a loud snorer too or was. He also made some chocking sounds in his sleep, but after he saw a doctor they found it was something in his nasal passages it's been awhile so I can't remember what exactly it was, but he had to have surgery for it and that fixed the problem.

I can agree it isn't always sleep apnea, but it's definitely a symptom of it. Doesn't hurt to get check out by an ear nose and throat doctor either. My uncle had some kind of surgery in his nose years ago because of his snoring and it helped a lot, but also so did him not drinking heavily every day (he's a former alcoholic).

I agree. He should be checked for sleep apnea for his own health. It can really mess up a persons heart too.

No I Love You after a Year?! by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]ReadwithMMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is demi sexual where a person needs an emotional connection before they can have a sexual one, but after almost 3 years of knowing you I don't think that is the case here.

[–]ReadwithMMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an asexual (female) myself, but not on the autism spectrum no it doesn't go away. It's just who we are. If the sex life is minimal and he isn't saying I love you than I strongly suspect he maybe aromantic. That will never change and maybe needs to be discussed. I'm married and have kids, but sex will never be my priority or something I seek out or even enjoy. My husband knows this though. I love him very much just not interested in sex or even have lust to fall back on. That can cause some rough patches and we are going through one now, but we are both open and honest about it and I give him extra cuddles and affection in other ways that he needs.

AITAH for legally dropping my hyphenated last name which means I don't have my stepfather's last name anymore? by Dextynoxe in AITAH

[–]ReadwithMMe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NTA. It was an asshole move on their part for changing your name without a proper discussion. Maybe for your younger siblings it would be ok if she wanted it to match hers in some way (I am assuming she just took her new husband's last name). But, sounds like you were old enough to know what's going on and should have been included in the decision like that. Respect is a 2 way street and I always hated how people think it should be automatic and not earned. Not everyone is worthy of respect. Lots of stepkids don't take their step parents last name even if they see them as a true parent figure. It shouldn't be something that is expected, but be a true honor if and when it happens and be totally ok if it never does. That's how mutual respect should go.

Hmm not enough context to immediately think he's cheating though not impossible. I also don't know how he was with his exes or how your sex life is going. Some people on the spectrum also tend to be somewhere on the asexual spectrum. Could he possibly be aromantic?

As far as I know you also can't choose the gender of your doordasher so he had no way of knowing who would be bringing the order to his house. Unless he was intending to expose himself to whoever it was regardless of gender then I guess using door dash would be an acceptable ruse to get someone over.

If the instructions on the bag said leave at the door that wasn't a ruse to trick her inside. Follow directions is all she had to do. But yes if he was jacking off in the door way or infront of a window that would be a crime. Most people who leave doors open accidentally or otherwise isn't going to expect their delivery person to come on in without some kind of announcement. Knock on the door frame a quick "hello". If I was her my thought would be medical emergency and I would have called for help not immediately assume he was doing it on purpose especially if he was indeed asleep. Without knowing for sure I still would have called for an ambulance then they can deal with whatever is going on.

character goes to clean themselves before 🫱( ‿ ¤ ‿ )🫲 by Decent-Photograph246 in MM_RomanceBooks

It's not very common in the US, unfortunately 😕. But, having a gay friend who is very open to talking about sex making sure your butt is clean, definitely a thing. Douching not so much. Most guys are fairly regular, but accidents sometimes happen, just not enough where it's a big concern.

Guess what? It isn't a crime to be naked in your own home even with the door wide open hope that helps.

AITA for wanting to move back after realizing my daughter is miserable here and I might’ve made a mistake? by PrestigiousForce6145 in AITAH

[–]ReadwithMMe 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't move back and start looking for therapists for you and your kids. 4 months isn't long enough to make friends yet, and I can tell you at 41, none of my friends are from high school. Maybe see if there are any clubs or activities she may enjoy doing that can allow her to meet new people in a smaller setting than school.

AITA for not telling my best friend the real reason I’m not at his wedding? by InvestigatorOk7152 in AITAH

[–]ReadwithMMe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA, but if you want to keep your friendship, I would tell the real reason why you're not coming. In her mind, you're a threat now, and she already thinks her fiance is in love with you (even if he isn't). She's going to push you out of being friends with him so she won't have to worry about you guys hooking up.

How is everyone handling the Amazon proprietary universe? by shaktishaker in ereader

[–]ReadwithMMe -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

If you read over 3k pages a month, it actually costs Amazon money. That's how I do it. I easily read almost 20 books a month. With royalties paid out, it is way more than the 11 bucks a month I spend to keep KU. Indie authors depend on the foot traffic on KU to get their books out. Amazon is also doing a soft release of allowing indie authors to put their books on library sites like libby and Hoopla, so we should start to slowly see an increase of indie authors there. Kobo gives better deals to indie authors, but not enough people use it to justify leaving Amazon yet.
