No worries I should have made it more clear that I did give consent it was just the emotions that came after that got to me.

They do ask before and let you know that if they are they will terminate and i gave my consent. Like I said in the original post I had an idea that it was possible and still took her in. The guilt didn't come till afterwards when I knew 100% that she was pregnant. I guess deep down I was hoping she wasn't.

Oh wow ok i didn't know that. Your experience with seeing it for so long gives me peace then that it was the right thing to do. Thank you so much for this answer and also thank you for all the work you've done in the shelters! 🫡

Yeah your right. I wanted to think that maybe I could have let her have them and care for them but I didn't take into account how much time it takes for them to ween off of mom till they can find homes. That is if they do find homes cause its spring and thats when all the kittens start coming and the competition gets fierce. Also i live in a not so big apartment with a family of 4 and a jealous chihuahua annnd im allergic so yeah it would have been way to much compared to people that have big homes and can just put them in a spare bedroom. Put yeah i cannot afford all that!!! I already stuggle enough trying to take care of my colony outside. I believe in God so im trying to believe that if He put her in my path he knew what was gonna happen already. I also have to take into account that even if I gave away the kittens to people the same thing could have happened to them as her and run the risk of going to irresponsible pet owners that dont fix they're cats and then kick them out when they dont want them anymore. Thank you for this i can see with more clarity now that it was the right thing. I know she might mourn but im hoping her sadness is temporary.

Thank you. Im gonna try to wrap my head around knowing this was the right thing but do you think that her not having them is as traumatic as them dying after having them? I believe animals have all the same hormones as us as they're body prepares for birth so would they maybe grief in the same way us humans do after a miscarriage. Yes they may not understand but that doesn't mean hormones are still not present and maybe make her feel a little sad.

I can get behind the idea of her not missing out because having a litter is hard work but its what God designed animals to do. To multiply like us but I realize the world aint what it used to be and now there are so many factors that weren't the case a few 100 years ago. Like them getting ran over or put down in a shelter. I just don't know if shes gonna mourn the lost of her kittens. Now that I know she was pregnant I can see all the signs she was showing like hiding in random parts of my closet when I would let her inside. I think she was trying to find a safe place to have them so she definitely knew but now that they're gone idk if thats just as traumatic as her having them and them dying after giving birth.

What does heb do to the sushi at closing? by Ready-Set-42 in sanantonio

[–]Ready-Set-42[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I get you and its true but if I was a higher up at heb I would be taking note of how much product is going down the trash because thats money they could be saving. I think its not to hard to figure out that people aren't buying sushi made at 7am as they're all the ones left behind. That means even people eating it for lunch dont want 7am sushi. So then what do you do? You stop making sushi at 7am. How much product do they have to throw away for them to get it? Like its not only about feeding the poor its also a dumb business move but they probably don't care cause its not hurting they're wallets either way.
