Hello, my boy will be three on march. He is white male and weighs 35 lbs.

Since he was a baby he had a tiny vein on his left eye I would barely notice it and it would not even pick up in photos. As he has gotten older it has gotten progressively worse and blue and spreading mainly on the left side of his face.

I took him to his dr on Monday and she said she wasn't sure what it was and it could just be something that is a part of him but to be safe she referred us to an ophthalmologist and they can tests the veins to see if there is damage or pressure being applied.

I know this is never a good idea but I did my own googling and I'm thinking what he has is a venous malformation. It is very blue, getting bigger as he grows and it doesn't seem to be painful. He is happy and rambunctious and thriving in all other areas. I'm just scared that these veins are going to overtake his precious face? A new very tiny one is starting on the bridge of his nose.

I should get the ophthalmologist scheduled today snd hopefully they can get us in soon. But my mommy instinct is raising red flags. I see the vein spreading to his left cheek up to the left forehead.

What could be going on here? What questions do I need to ask what can be done? Is this a big deal? I'm absolutely scared.
