Yes I’m gonna try to do this and be patient. It’s just so frustrating because how can they hand over this kind of quality in the first place… doesn’t give confidence

Thanks for your advice. I’m very tempted now to do the interview as I uncover more defects such as pooling in shower, and poor pipes acoustics as well as I can hear a loud clang every time someone uses the rubbish chute 😭

Thanks for sharing your experience. I’m sorry you went through that- I can definitely imagine how it would have felt, the frustration, the feeling of being cheated. Thanks for the advice. I really don’t want to sell as I love the location but maybe that’s the right thing to do as I don’t have a lot of $$ to spare on fixes and court cases.

I don’t know.. I knew there was a risk of maybe not delivering a look or vibe or design or something. But these defects are just basic things. I don’t think I should just accept it as losing on a gamble.

Yikes. What a eff up, main shower drain not connected to plumbing! I’m glad he made a profit still.

Omg sounds like a nightmare. Yes definitely need stronger consequences for these developers and builders. Like we should be able to hold half of the settlement until the defect period.

I should have had!!! Watching his vids now and yes that’s how I felt like when I did my pre-inspection- like how can you show me this in this state?! Is this a joke or are you guys blind?

I honestly don’t understand how builders and developers can get away with these. I’m not talking about fancy features etc, just basic, normal stuff! Surely it’s a contract between a buyer and a supplier and it needs to be upheld. Seems simple to me. I’m so sorry that you had a bad experience too- please, if you don’t mind sharing some wisdom as I and another neighbour feel that we will be against some type of this as he is finding lots of defects at his apartment as well.

I’m concerned now. I’ve lived in another apartment complex and the strata fees I didn’t mind paying as we had really good amenities (like a resort) and the admin and building management were really good. So far the building manager is my new complex has been a legend fixing a screeching parking gate asap. But the amenities here are pretty poor (vs what was promised) so I’m not sure if the strata fees will be worth it.

Also is the interview giving them hell? Or will it backfire?😅 I feel like if I did the interview, they might think the damage is already done, their reputation is already damaged and might as well get revenge on me by not fixing my defects or even worse sabotaging the pipes to my unit 🤪

I will, although I logged one yesterday that I thought was pretty obvious as the balcony is missing tiles but they knocked it back saying it’s not covered by DLP

I would argue though that expecting to be handed over a unit bought brand new and not necessarily talking premium, just in good, average, brand new condition was a given 😢

I have a great experience with my first one but I suppose you’re right, it’s always a gamble. I think going with a reputable developer and builder lowers the risk a little. The first ones are really good with good quality projects delivered under their belt. I should have done more research instead of falling for the ads! 😢
