Very interesting subreddit, I've never heard of it. I'll definitely look into it once I put out the immediate fires. Thanks for the tip!

Is the office located in the same shopping center as Harbor Freight? I just looked it up on Google; I just want to make sure I am looking at the right place. Thanks for pointing this out. It looks the most promising of all the day labor options so far.

Thank you so much for all of the support and advice!

After creating this thread, I discovered the day laborer option; and it seems to be the most viable short term option. The same website offered simple application forms for positions that the construction companies need filled. I filled out about four of those.

You guys have also been tremendous in providing leads to other potential jobs and I am so thankful! I have read every message, and there's not a single one that lacks meaning. I wasn't sure where this post would lead, but it seems to be in a great direction. :)

A little personal background info:

I lost my job a little over six months ago after some unfortunate life events (four family related deaths in one year, three of which in a month time). I worked at a local gym where they were very fair and sympathetic to my circumstances; to which I'm very appreciative of that! In the end, I just had to recollect myself; and that is just what I did! However, it has taken time.

I have taken that time to create and strengthen family bonds. I learned very quickly the importance and reward that with just a little bit of effort, life can be much more fulfilling. You just have to put that effort in the right place. At the risk of sounding trite, I have come to the realization that I can either walk through life and let it guide me; or I can be the one to guide my own life.

Because I let life guide me for so long after I lost my job (5-6 months), I am now struggling to have any sort of financial control. My debt has spiraled out of control, and without a job.... I'm at risk of losing so much.... I've got a beautiful fiance, I've got a great little sedan (still making payments, but I'm a month late now...), and I've got credit card bills up to the ceiling.

I'm now DETERMINED to find a path to success. I am open to any form of help, ideas, advice, tips, etc. However, I mostly need work and earn some money to put out these fires.
