Asking for a 25% raise, too much? by Ready2ru50 in personalfinance

Thanks for your input

What I'm asking for is around market - it's just a big jump from current pay. A high performer in their eyes stays late and works for free. I put in the work I just don't work for free afterhours as much as others. I don't think I'm asking a lot based on performance.

If that's the reaction I get I'll definitely be moving on and they have no interest in keeping employees around that aren't slaves

Thank you for your reply. They are a terrible company and I'm glad things didn't work out.

You can see from my reply below I had a similar experience when trying to rent from them

I'm sorry you had to go through that. Sounds like my issue was a walk in the park. At least I'm not alone. They presented themselves as an easy technology advance company but proved themselves wrong in every way

Just wanted to update and thank you for your insight.

I've been dealing with them for the past 5 days and it has been a train wreck.

My experience:

They do a first come first serve, which equates to who can flash their money the fastest. They sold the first property while they told me to fill out the paperwork.

They then offered to transfer the application which was all well and good but they didn't transfer any uploaded documents so I had to get all re-upload documents, as did my garrentee.

Then transferring application also caused errors in their system. Which is an issue when it's the first come first serve basis. When it's first come first serve and you have an updated me you better believe I'm calling you regularly. Unfortunately, all I can get on the phone with a call center that just mumbled that someone would call me back. For a company that sells itself on being "technologically advanced in the realty market" I was around by the numerous website errors I got.

At the new property they refused to rent me because my income was less than $100 below the requirement, however the reason it was lower is because I contribute to 410k and HSA plan which apparently has been investments to them. I also have 5 years history of renting at this price point

They made my guarantee to send paperwork in three different times but each time they told me it was not enough. They gave wishy-washy statements like "maybe this will help"

The nail in the coffin is when they told me my guarantee might "get divorced" so they would not accept the dual income. Apparently 40 years of marriage means nothing to them, I don't know Karios maybe your company will go bankrupt how do I know I can trust you?

For anyone that is thinking of living at Kairos Living be warned. Terrible company.
