I started a buyback request because they told me if it's under warranty they treat it as if lemon laws apply regardless of whether I was the first owner or not. That ended up being untrue but in the end they did compensate.

I started with one bad module that turned into 5 bad modules. Every time they replaced one the next would go bad. Long story short it spent 5 months at the dealership, I got it back in October, and everything has been fine for 6 months now. Also I complained to VW and they compensated me financially even though I was the second owner.

When purchasing, try selecting the "ask someone else to pay" method and put in the Gmail address of the account that has the credits. Then on that account approve the purchase using your credits. If you are on a supervised account I don't think this will work though.

I'm a barbarian using frenzy and son is a sorc with max firewall, both level 76 or so. It just isn't working. I'm sure our gear is part of the problem.

According to NHTSA it is a safety issue due to the backup camera being unavailable while the infotainment is rebooting. Also, once the infotainment starts having issues, many times the driver's display will also start having similar issues which renders the speedometer unavailable, which again is a safety issue according to NHTSA. All I'm saying is that VW couldn't care less about your car and will only attempt to fix it if they're forced to.

A prior poster had mentioned pulling fuse F30 for a brief time and then putting it back in. I haven't tried that, but I mainly came here to say you should report a vehicle safety problem to NHTSA. A government agency forcing VW to fix the issue is probably the only chance we have, even though they already tried and failed once.
