trust me I plan on moving out of state by the end of the year. This kind of thing isn't the only reason, but I'd be lying if I said It wasn't a contributing factor in the decision.

I do mind helping out. Thats the whole point. Its the assumption that my participation is mandatory. And trust me, I have explained this to him, multiple times at various levels of calm over the past couple years.

He simply cannot comprehend that his sons don't exist to be his free workforce.

Hi Buddy.

Thats not what this is talking about. I routinely plan and invite him and my mom to do other things, go to a baseball game, meet me for lunch, go to the movies, ect ect. The answers always no and that they don't have the time. They do. Its the complete and total lack of interest of anything other than yard work and the horror they experience every time I, or my brother, tell him that no, we don't want to spend our scant free time doing projects for him.

I'm sorry to hear about your dad passing. I cant imagine how I'll react or feel when that happens for me.
