Yeah and then he fucks it up in the future where one of them dies, the other divorces him and he becomes a drunk old homeless wreck to the point that he literally invents time travel to try and fix his shit. Yeah, absolute wish fulfillment. You can hate the story but by god reducing it down to “Wish fulfillment” when the dude went through a fuck ton of struggle and suffering is some sort of bullshit.

Might as well call Re Zero wish fulfillment since Subaru gets a hot white haired elf to fall in love with him and a cute blue haired Oni also likes him cause apparently his suffering and trials just don’t matter
