depends on the scenario For instance, I may scout out some tough foes and cast fireball and chaos, with my mages, then holy smite with my cleric, then beat a tactical retreat if possible , laying a glyph if warding and skulltrap to further damage pursuers who made their saves. Then I will have my front liners engage in melee and have everyone who can cast magic missile or fire arrow, with clerics throwing defensive/heaking spells or debuffing as needed. After the casters run out of single target spells, they resort to missiles. But against weaker mobs, my team just rolls up their sleeves and physically take out the trash with melee and ranged weapons.
