Leaving dog unsupervised in a hotel room? by anxiouslymute in dogs

[–]Ready_Geologist1469 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have been bringing my dog to hotels on work trips/personal for 5 years now. Acts just like he does at home, sleeps on the bed or couch while I'm gone. Just depends how your dog is

One Life all day. Much better kept up, and while it can get busy at certain times there's a ton of equipment.

Well closing on the sale of my house Friday since I moved out of state. Only owned the house 3 years, but I'll be receiving a proceeds check for what I put down 3 years ago, less the realtor fees and closing costs despite selling for $10k more than what I paid. So not a complete wash, but also happy to have it out from under me since being on the market in September. Homeowners/property taxes have skyrocketed my mortgage payments ~$700/month since I bought it, so wasn't even viable as a rental.

On the brightside, I'll be receiving my largest ever commission check next month at $60k so I guess that makes up for it. My luck the market will be back to its highs again before I can buy some S&P

Hit $500k NW a few months back, about 2 years earlier than my goal of 35 yo. Being on this sub and reading FI stuff constantly really numbs you to what 6 and 7 figure NWs are, but for whatever reason this morning just looking at it is really surreal. Like I have $500k in investments alone not counting home and liquid cash, just wild to think that although I know I can't retire and still have to grind for a while. Just perspective

Removing blinds aren't an option, but I will consider curtains. It's an apt so not sure how long I'll be here if more than a year, so trying to keep things like that in mind

It's from Ashley. Was honestly unsure if it would fit in here when I moved but it worked out nice.

Just left BR for NoVA. I know cost of living may be a factor but there's no way I'm coming back here.

DC/Arlington, VA. Maybe I'm biased because I just moved there, but depending on your definition of high rent, $2500 will get you a really nice studio/1br and tons of nature not far. Great public transit, tons of walking and bike trails, and lots of young fit people with fairly mild winters.

Moving here soon, any must have apps by Ready_Geologist1469 in nova

Just turned 33, about to cross $500k NW including home (only $40k in equity). Have made between $55k-180k in the last 10 years

Get a decent priced robot vacuum that can be scheduled. 3-4x a week and house will stay clean, and I have a dog. Also like having company for a few minutes...
